Job Description
The Assistant Director of Multicultural Outreach ( ADMO ) creates and oversees activities that deepen the faith lives of students from diverse cultural and faith backgrounds, focusing on Latino, Black, and Asian student needs. Particularly, the ADMO must genuinely engage with Latino young adults, supporting and encouraging them to become active participants and leaders in the Catholic Church.
Along with their programming responsibilities, to succeed the ADMO must have well-developed skills in one-on-one mentoring, be available for planned and unplanned conversations, understand University policies and resources, and serve as a trusted partner with other University units to offer insight and direction when advising a student. The ADMO should be able to embrace and articulate the charism of the Congregation of Holy Cross.
The ADMO will strive to continually grow and deepen his/her own spirituality, learn about the issues facing underrepresented students, and seek greater insight into how to share the Gospel with those students. To work most effectively within the Notre Dame community, the ADMO should be able to embrace and articulate the charism of the Congregation of Holy Cross. Finally, this candidate must be a skilled supervisor, forming and guiding part-time staff, graduate students, and student interns.

Responsibilities Include
- Develop and evaluate opportunities to thrive spiritually, build community, and form leaders among Latino students through weekly Sunday Spanish Masses, the First-Year Latino Retreat, a regular immersion trip to Mexico City, and by providing and connecting students to other ministry opportunities and events. In addition, the candidate must provide one-on-one care to offer effective pastoral support to students.
- Design and evaluate opportunities for Black and Asian students to thrive spiritually, build community, and form leaders by overseeing the respective first-year retreats, coordinating liturgical experiences of prayer and worship with key partners, providing and connecting students to various ministry opportunities and events, and engaging in one-on-one mentoring.
- Develop and evaluate opportunities to thrive spiritually, build community, and form leaders among international students by building community, connecting students to various ministry opportunities and events, and helping them understand the sights and sounds experienced on a Catholic university campus.
- Work with fellow campus ministers and other campus partners to ensure underrepresented students connect with wider campus networks. Serve as a Campus Ministry representative on relevant University Committees as needed.
- Master’s Degree in Theology or related field
- 1 to 2 years experience
- Understanding of young adult spirituality and faith formation
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong networks aimed at student flourishing
- Eagerness to encounter and learn from diverse cultures and understand different faith traditions
- Strong pastoral, administrative, and organizational skills
- Proficient knowledge of Google Suite
- Direct ministry experience with college-aged students
- 3 to 5 years experience
