Applications Scientist
Our client is seeking an Applications Scientist to join their team. In this role you will independently develop, validate, execute, and communicate XRF analytical method details for a variety of materials and matrices, to guide customers to meet various analytical goals, across key industries. Travel approximately 50% of the time with some overnight stays to visit and support customers.
This role is onsite in Phoenix, Arizona.
Applications Scientist Responsibilities
- Technical sales support and methods development for their North and South American customer base.
- Demonstrate the use and application of both WDXRF and EDXRF instrumentation/equipment at customer sites and remotely. Will also train new users and support existing ones.
- Address application questions for potential and existing XRF customers.
- Prepare various materials using a variety of analytical methods for analysis, including but not limited to, fine powders, pressed pellets, liquids, and other solids.
- Document activities, processes, and results in an organized and logical fashion.
- Produce materials for and host internal and external training relating to XRF methods and experimental techniques.
- Build rapport with customers quickly and confidently, assisting them with questions and concerns.
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Service, and Business Development Teams.
- Ensure customer satisfaction throughout all stages of the pre sales and post sales processes.
- Understand and comply with good laboratory practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and other company policies and procedures.
Applications Scientist Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical chemistry experience.
- Record, evaluate, interpret, and summarize technical data in reports, memos, and other documents.
- Ability to think critically and problem-solve on the spot.
- Ability to prioritize various workstreams concurrently.
- Strong customer-centric mindset.
- Ability to respond to customer requests with a sense of urgency.
- Fluency in Portuguese and/or Spanish is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- M.S. in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Salary: $105,000-$150,000 (DOE)Benefits
