Travel Required: Yes. Occasionally.

Expected Hours of Work: (include any mandatory meeting times with time zone) 40 hours a week M-F (9-5) in the office

Summary/Objective

The R&D Application Scientist will be responsible for developing and implementing new product applications, conducting research, and providing technical support to customers using novel PWR technology, in a variety of applications, including drug discovery, protein interaction, and etc. The Application Scientist will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions and contribute to the growth and success of the company.

Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimization of new product applications through experimental design and execution
• Conduct research and analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive products
• Provide technical support to customers, including troubleshooting application issues and recommending solutions
• Collaborate with other R&D team members, marketing/sales, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product launches and commercialization
• Generate application notes, technical documents, reports, and presentations to communicate research findings and product applications
• Stay current on industry developments and participate in scientific conferences and seminars to enhance expertise. Present to external audiences at conferences or on company webinars
  
  
  

Requirements

• Prior experience in application development based on SPR or similar instruments, with familiarity in SPR technology
• Prior experience in research and development, preferably in analytical chemistry, surface chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, protein sciences, molecular biology, especially assay development
• Hands-on experience with analytical chemistry instruments, including but not limited to chromatography, mass spectrometry, surface plasmon resonance, spectroscopy
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in experimental design and data analysis
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively interact with internal teams and external customers
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Innovative thinking and a passion for developing new applications and solving complex problems
