Position Title: Ski and Ride School Adult Lesson Supervisor

Business Unit: Ski and Ride School Groups BU (354048)

Position Reports to: Managers, Assistant Director, Director

Positions Reporting to this Role: Instructors

Location: Crystal Mountain, Washington

Wage Range: $24.00 to $26.00 DOE

Job Summary

As a member of the Crystal Mountain Ski & Ride School leadership team, the Adult Lessons Supervisor is responsible for coordination and oversight of all aspects related to the operation of daily adult lessons. The supervisor will oversee the on-snow adult lesson meeting areas, create classes based on student ability levels, and assist instructors with on-snow support and training. The person in this role must be highly organized, exceptional with customer service, and passionate about sharing Snowsports with others.

Essential Duties

  • Oversee the set up and take down of outdoor lesson meeting areas.
  • Lead the process of creating classes by matching students' skill levels while also balancing class sizes with the guest experience.
  • Assign instructors to classes and other non-teaching assignments if necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with the leadership team and sales staff to determine staffing needs, product availability and instructor assignments.
  • Monitor classes out on the snow. Offer instructors support if necessary and provide feedback on instructor performance.
  • Participate in scheduling instructors and facilitate scheduling changes.
  • Act as the point person for guest recovery scenarios regarding group lesson products.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill And Ability Requirements

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills at all levels.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to assess, motivate and train staff.
  • Must have experience in Office products.
  • Ability to take direction and work well in a team environment.
  • Supervisory experience in a Snowsports school preferred.
  • Level 2 PSIA/AASI certification preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position is required to work evenings, weekends and holidays while in operation.
  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
  • Auditory and visual acuity to communicate with computers, phones, and mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time while on skis/snowboard.
  • Able to spend long periods outside without breaks in a variety of weather conditions. (Minimum 2 hours)
