Summary

The ADRA Connections Coordinator is responsible for organizing, promoting, and executing ADRA Connections trips for volunteers seeking to engage with ADRA, in coordination with the ADRA Connections Manager. The ADRA Connections Coordinator will engage with interested group leaders, will promote the program at universities, churches, and academies, and will help manage the financial, reporting, and communication duties of trip itineraries, trip budgets, and project details. The ADRA Connections Coordinator will also lead various groups into the field, ranging from youth, professionals, church members, families, and corporate groups, representing both the ADRA Connections program and the larger ADRA brand and will serve as the conduit between our volunteer groups and the local ADRA office.

PRE-REQUISITES

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, public relations, nonprofit management, or related discipline
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a related field
  • Business minded, self-motivated, and well organized with high attention to detail
  • Consistently demonstrates sound judgment in decision making
  • Ability to engage and communicate with people of various backgrounds and ages
  • Demonstrated ability to excel within a diverse team, exhibiting strong performance
  • Able to handle pressure and deliver on deadlines
  • Proficient computer skills in word processing, database and spreadsheet software, website management, and the ability to learn platforms relevant to the position
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work autonomously or in groups with initiative to improve work processes
  • Responds positively to feedback
  • Travel experience, especially in developing countries
  • Able to lead groups of young people and/or adults into the field either autonomously or with a coleader and to manage the safety, support, and success of the group’s experience in-country
  • Experience organizing events or logistics planning
  • Presentation skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Functional Responsibilities

  • Promote ADRA Connections at different venues, following-up on leads, assisting in selling trips to groups leaders and decisions makers, and providing support with all administrative functions related to the program
  • Manage relationships within key constituencies, including U.S.-based universities, churches, conferences, corporate groups, and others
  • Organize ADRA Connections trips for volunteers seeking to engage with ADRA as established in the trip calendar for the year. Liaise between interested groups and ADRA country offices to organize several trips per year
  • Conduct field visits to ensure ADRA Connections partner offices are meeting contractual requirements, do quality control on select trips to ensure appropriate implementation of trip user experience, and report back to the ADRA Connections Manager for follow-up as needed
  • Collaborate with private grants office, programs unit, and field offices to assist in the identification and preparation of appropriate ADRA Connections projects
  • Support ADRA Connections trip leaders to complete all requirements for trip preparation
  • Review and monitor team compliance with risk management plans for each location
  • Monitor team fundraising efforts and liaise with finance to release funds to projects
  • Answer emails and phone calls to assist with the coordination and organization of ADRA Connections trips for individuals, church and university teams, families, and corporate groups
  • Set-up trip profiles using ADRA Connections online tools and provide training and support to trip leaders in the use of these tools
  • Liaise regularly with ADRA’s Human Resources office, ADRA’s Safety and Security Officer, and Adventist Risk Management (ARM) regarding risk management services, security protocols and SOPs, insurance, and more
  • Represent ADRA Connections at various events (churches, camps, schools, and more) to speak about the program and recruit potential participants, interacting with previous CNX alumni
  • Liaise with other members of the Marketing/PR team to develop promotional materials relevant to different target groups
  • Assist in presenting a training program for all volunteers involved in mission trips
  • Keep stock of all ADRA Connections-related promotional materials and coordinate with other members of the Marketing/PR team to re-order materials. Ship materials to various supporters and groups as needed
  • Lead groups of volunteers on official ADRA Connections trips into the field to contribute to one of the various ADRA projects supported by the ADRA Connections group trips
