Serves as a resource person for standard financial reporting and financial analysis to ensure
compliance with Parkland’s fiscal policies and directives. May act as a representative to division
staff and management concerning fiscal and budgetary matters.
Responsible for assuring the timely maintenance and distribution of all financial and statistical
reports, calendars, and listings, to facilitate work flow and communication with division personnel.
Performs analysis and participates in special projects, such as responding to specific requests for ad hoc reports, to provide technical and accounting expertise.
Assists in preparation of division's annual capital and operating budgets, prepares and reviews special budget reports. May monitor actual results as compared to budget on a monthly basis to ensure fiscal responsibility and revise budgets as necessary.
Reviews various reports and general ledger transactions of division cost centers. Analyzes the financial and statistical activities such as labor costs/productivity and performance of the division throughout the year to ensure fiscal accountability. Reports variances to finance leadership and division executives and staff as needed.
Monitors and reconciles material contractual arrangements, and petty cash balances for the
division. Facilitates corrections, as necessary, to ensure adequate tracking accounting.
Monitors accounts receivable and revenues (including grants) for the division and assures the
timely and appropriate recording of all material amounts. Ensures that appropriate actions are
taken to collect balances due, as necessary, so that Parkland cash collections are maximized.
Serves as a resource person for Parkland management for design, development and preparation of financial analyses, as requested.
Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer (internal as well as external) satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals and mission of Parkland.
Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the Finance and Accounting areas. Develops effective internal controls that promote adherence to applicable state/federal laws, and the program requirements of accreditation agencies and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding.
Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements and trends in Finance and Accounting by attending seminars or workshops, reading professional journals and participating in professional organizations. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.
Submission Requirements
MUST have bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
a MIN of 3 years experience in Accounting or Finance
experience working with major financial applications software
Master's degree in account, finance or related field is preferred
advanced computer skills including spreadsheet, database management & word processing software
MUST have experience in 3 of 4: Healthcare Finance, Supporting Operational Departments, Budgeting/Forecasting and/or Variance Analysis
