ACT/SAT Tutor & School Programs Teacher - Remote | WFH

Join our team of dedicated educators, where our mission is to mentor students while nurturing their essential. We're seeking enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about making a difference in students' lives through rewarding, highly personalized instruction.

While many of our tutoring sessions and school partnerships are conducted virtually, we're currently seeking candidates who are excited about tutoring in-person at our Lincoln Park and/or Winnetka offices, or teaching on the campuses of our partner schools.

We're looking for candidates interested in joining least the 2024-25 school year. We are committed to fostering a diverse workplace and providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants.

Please note that demand for our services varies seasonally, with January-April being our busiest tutoring months and May-August being slower. We're seeking long-term fits, as onboarding now may involve limited hours until the fall.

Candidates for this position will need to complete a content quiz covering English and math prior to the interview. This quiz typically takes 30-45 minutes to complete.

We believe in providing comprehensive training for our tutors. Our Gateway Training module, consisting of synchronous sessions and asynchronous homework, typically takes 2-3 weeks to complete and comes with a stipend of $500.

Here's What We Offer

Competitive pay starting at $30/hr for 1-on-1 tutoring and $47/hr for classroom teaching, with potential for increases based on performance. Compensation for tutoring at our Winnetka office starts at $45/hour.

Key Responsibilities Include

Delivering engaging specialized academic and test-prep instruction to high school (and some middle school) students in the Chicagoland area.

Building supportive relationships with students.

Maintaining an accurate calendar in Microsoft Outlook.

Timely communication with administrators, students, and parents.

Demonstrating classroom management skills and professionalism in both remote and in-person settings.

Attending required training and professional development events.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in any subject.

Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and educational equity.

Passion for supporting student success.

Academic expertise in English, math, reading, and science.

Access to a computer with webcam, mic, and reliable internet connection for virtual instruction.

Availability of at least 10 hours per week.

Ability to teach all subjects on the ACT.
