Accounting Manager

Job Summary

My client is a rapidly growing, early-stage business specializing in managing a network of outpatient infusion facilities. The Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller is responsible for maintaining the General Ledger (GL) and ensuring the integrity of financial information to support strategic decision-making. This role encompasses financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and collaborating with senior management to align financial activities with the organization's strategic goals.

Responsibilities of the Position:

1. General Ledger Maintenance: Oversee the GL, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions. Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
2. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Provide accurate and timely financial reports to senior management and external stakeholders.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets in collaboration with department heads. Monitor budget performance, perform variance analysis, forecast financial trends, and provide recommendations for improvement.
4. Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including tax filings, financial audits, and reporting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS). Implement internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.
5. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes. Evaluate financial performance, identify trends, and recommend strategies for improvement.
6. Cost Management: Monitor and control costs to optimize financial performance. Identify opportunities for cost reduction or revenue enhancement.
7. Cash Management: Manage cash flow, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and treasury functions. Optimize working capital and liquidity management.
8. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor finance and reimbursement department staff. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities. Work closely with any outside billing agency or consultants.
9. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies aligned with organizational goals. Participate in strategic planning initiatives and contribute financial expertise.
10. Audit Coordination: Coordinate financial audits and reviews with external auditors. Ensure audit readiness and facilitate audit processes.
11. Technology Utilization: Leverage financial systems and technology tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in financial management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 5 years of proven experience in financial management, preferably in the for-profit healthcare industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, inventory management, and financial reporting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Motivated to expand responsibilities within the growing business.
• Advanced computer skills, including MS Excel, financial software, and ERP systems.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
