Pacific Catch is seeking an Experienced Accountant Manager that believes in treating our Guests and colleagues with first-class service and incredible hospitality! This position is both a financial and planning partner to the Sr. Director of Accounting and CFO while overseeing the accounting operations. The ideal candidate for this role should have experience as an accounting manager with significant hands-on qualifications for maintaining accounting and financial systems. The Accounting Manager will assist with directing the daily operations of the accounting team and ensuring compliance with the company standards in all areas of restaurant and corporate operations. This will include managing and performing accounting functions such as preparing financial reports, providing audit support, reviewing, and maintaining ledgers and reconciling bank accounts.

Schedule

This is a full-time, nonexempt position. The typical workweek will be Monday through Friday with some night and weekend required. The corporate office is in Corte Madera, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Along with the Controller, is responsible for timely and accurate completion of month and year-end financial reporting close
  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of the accounting team
  • Prepares journal entries and relevant support
  • Reviews and approves journal entries and relevant support prepared by other team members
  • Perform complex accounting calculations and account reconciliations
  • Assists the Controller with researching variances in budget to actual reports and provides analysis on those variances
  • Assists with refining, improving, and/or creating policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Assists in documenting accounting policies and procedures
  • Leads the monthly balance sheet rec process, ensuring that reconciliations are “audit quality.” This includes preparation of reconciliations and reviewing reconciliations prepared by other team members
  • Assists with preparation of audit documentation
  • Assists with staying up to date on changes in GAAP and industry best practices; recommending and implementing changes as required
  • Mentors and directs work of others on the team: providing guidance and training
  • Assists with training team members outside of the accounting team on company platforms (Restaurant365, expense platforms, A/P automation software, etc.)
  • Works on projects or necessary tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Must have 3-5 years of accounting management experience in the multiunit retail space
  • CPA a plus (not required)
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Strong spreadsheet skills (MS Excel and Google Sheets)
  • Excellent leadership and people skills with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-finance professionals
  • Detail-oriented with an elevated level of accuracy and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically
  • Knowledge of general ledger accounting software required (experience with Restaurant365 is a plus, not required)

Compensation

  • $80,000 - $100,000 per year
