Position Summary:

The Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, implementation of robust financial controls, and compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. This role requires a strategic leader with strong technical accounting skills, excellent management capabilities, and the ability to drive process improvements. This position reports to the Controller.


Responsibilities:

  • Managing banking platform including, reviewing and approving wires, creating new vendors in banking platform and bank reconciliation.
  • Supervise the daily operations of the accounting team (direct, indirect and growing) including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, fixed assets, intercompany, leases and accrued expenses.
  • Responsible for various month end journal entries including, but not limited to, accrued expenses, cut-off of inventory, payroll and commissions calculations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Review journal entries, account reconciliations and internal control documentation, as necessary.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statement fluctuation analysis for related areas including monthly, quarterly and annual budgets.
  • Execute and coordinate accurate and timely financial reporting requirements with the SEC, including assistance with preparation of Forms 10-Q, 10-K and others.
  • Review, analyze, and report on disaggregated and consolidated results to Controllership, other finance functions, and members of senior management. Develop internal analyses and reports that are scalable for future growth.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing with IRS, state and other jurisdiction requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness within the accounting function. Leverage technology and software tools to streamline accounting processes and improve data accuracy.
  • Lead operational improvement initiatives and other ad hoc projects.
  • Collaborate in the development, implementation and oversight of company-wide accounting policies and internal controls consistent with SEC, US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Manage and coordinate external and internal audits and reviews, providing necessary documentation and support timely.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance.
  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Public or private accounting experience.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations, inventory valuation, and cost accounting; standard costing is a plus.
  • Ability to manage several priorities, work cross-functionally, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and financial troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively bridge communication between Finance, Operations, and Information Technology Departments.


Preferred:

  • Exposure to Infor XA (formerly MAPICS) and/or IBM AS400/iSeries platform.
  • Experience with implementing a new accounting system, including system selection, configuration, testing and integration with existing processes.
