Lead 3D Environment Artist

Seedify Meta Studios is looking for a talented, creative, and collaborative Lead 3D Environment Artist to join our core team developing high quality Maps for one of the biggest Metaverse projects ever. The ideal candidate will focus on leading the team creating stunning and beautiful environments and props based on visually appealing and well-crafted concept pieces.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of internal and external 3D artists
  • Collaborate with Art Director, designers, engineers and producers to balance creative vision with production realities and ensure artistic goals are met within technical performance targets
  • Sculpt/model UV & texture meshes in a PBR pipeline
  • Intake outsourced assets and ensure that they are game tech and design compliant
  • Verify the quality of objects in the game, and make improvements where necessary to fit technical constraints and artistic direction
  • Be an active mentor and role model for the art team. Work to maintain morale and create an atmosphere of creativity and enthusiasm
  • Be directly responsible for delivering Art assets with top notch quality from team
  • Implement 3D environment assets correctly in Unreal game engine


Required Qualifications:

  • College Diploma/Degree in graphic design, 3D, video game development or equivalent training
  • 8 years’ games industry experience with industry 3D packages, preferably Maya, 3DSMax & ZBrush, with minimum of 1 to 2 years of Lead level experience
  • Experience working on published AAA games a strong advantage


Required Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of Maya, 3DSMax, ZBrush and Substance Painter
  • Expert knowledge of Photoshop
  • Excellent knowledge of Art production on AAA games (PBR, Shader and optimization)
  • Strong portfolio showing 3D art skills and demonstrating a high level of artistic creativity
  • Expert knowledge of 3D pipelines and asset management
  • Familiarity with Unreal Game Engine
  • Familiarity with game development cycle
  • Good understanding of architecture and Props with respect to environment
  • Knowledge of Python, MEL, MAX Script or a programming language (C++, C# etc.) an asset
