Job Description
The Chief Experience Officer (CXO) of Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital is entrusted with the oversight and enhancement of the overall care experience for patients, visitors, and staff. Reporting to the SF Health Network Chief Experience Officer with a dotted line to the Chief Executive Officer, the CXO leads strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing care experience through evidence-based practices and meticulous planning. This role encompasses oversight of lobby operations, staff experience, and the Office of Patient Experience, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards.

Required Minimum Qualifications (all applicants must verify that they meet both elements below):
EDUCATION: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university;
AND
EXPERIENCE: Six (6) years of managerial experience in hospital administration all of which must include supervisory experience.
Additional qualifying experience as described above may substitute for the required degree on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two (2) years. One year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester or forty-five (45) quarter units.
Note: One year of full-time employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours of qualifying work experience (one year if performed full-time at 40 hours per week). Any overtime hours that were worked above 40 hours per week are not included in the calculation to determine qualifying hours worked.

Job Description

Essential Duties
- Leading Strategic Initiatives: Lead and direct strategic initiatives to optimize care experience using evidence-based practices and collaboration with leadership, ensuring alignment with SFHN to create a comprehensive and consistent experience for patients and staff.
- Directing Operations: Direct the operations of OPEX, Lobby Operations, Spiritual Care and Staff Experience, ensuring effective implementation of programs and management of budget and contracts.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance: Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards related to care experience, mitigating risks, and ensuring patient rights are upheld.
- Managing team performance: Provide leadership and direction to care experience team, providing support and professional development.
- Reporting and Governance: Work closely with senior leadership, dept heads and community partners to prepare reports and recommendations for hospital operations and governance bodies based on data analysis, ensuring transparency and accountability in care experience initiatives.
- Driving Performance Improvement: Utilize data analysis and feedback mechanism to identify opportunities for improvement and implement initiatives related to enhancing CAHPS performance, other Care Experience Metrics, and employee engagement.
