We are currently working on bug fixes, and will be exhibiting it for the first time at ATLIFE Taiwan 2024 in Taipei this week, from May 16th (Thurs) to May 19th (Sun). I am very interested to see how people in Taiwanese reacts it, who are familiar with the Wǔháng. We plan to release the URL once it is completed. The basic functions are free of charge, and it predicts your skin and health condition at that time of day.

Walk in memory lane part 1/6 - organizing the very first Future of Product Development (also known as Future of Software). In 2015, we at Contribyte had a crazy idea to build a seminar about the software industry's future. We were a company of 7 people then, and we bravely set a target of getting 250 people to our seminar. To our amazement (and hard work), 274 people registered for the event, and over 240 people participated. We did the whole thing on our own; we didn't have any external help. Thinking about it now, it seems like we did some good magic. How did we make it happen? Everything started with a good lineup. We booked former Finnish Ice Hockey Head coach Hannu Aravirta to be the keynote, and then we had some fascinating people speak: Lennu Keinänen, Minna Liminka, Lee Cunningham, and Ville Houttu, to name a few. That lineup, with the promise of discussions about the future of software, was a huge success. I'm still pretty proud of what we did with that small team. Lasse Mikkonen, Juha Karjalainen, and Timo Leppä, to name a few, made things happen. That was the start of the journey. We've done it five times again, and I'm happy we've decided to do it again this year. This year, we are calling it Future of Software 24. I promise it will be better than ever.

This morning, when I learned of the girls' high school entrance exam results in our program, I rejoiced at their success and the collective success of all who contributed to it. Achieving a 100% success rate on the exam over the last two years highlights the girls' understanding of their roles and commitment to our teachings. They participated fully and with goodwill, doing the necessary work to pass the mandatory high school entrance exam. This event made me think of our book project at #SOHKBB, where over twenty Hard Knockers combined their talents to produce a masterpiece. The upcoming publication of our book is a testament to our collective effort. Each Knocker recognized their contribution as a duty of principle, embracing their role to ensure the project's success. 🌟 Just had an incredible meeting with Diem and Ds. Út in Ho Chi Minh City! 🌟 I met Diem during the Game Thinking Conference in 2017, and it’s fantastic that we’ve kept in touch via Facebook. It was a pleasure to meet her colleague Ds. Út, who is very enthusiastic about learning and development. He asked insightful questions about learning technologies, comparing our solutions to those offered by platforms like LinkedIn Learning, Coursera, and Udemy. We also delved into user experience design for learning technologies and discussed the trends of perpetual license vs. subscription model for learning tech software. The influence of consumer technology has driven expectations for continuous improvements and instant updates. Subscription models cater to this demand by providing regular enhancements and staying aligned with the latest tech trends. In contrast, perpetual licenses might lag, as the initial purchase doesn’t cover the ongoing innovation and updates, potentially leading to a higher total cost of ownership when factoring in the need for frequent manual updates and maintenance. These discussions are vital as organizations navigate their digital transformation journeys, deciding the best fit for their needs. #SOHKBB Are you your labels? Do you accept labels assigned to you by others? How do you label other people? In the world today, there are many people working to label you. It could be advertisers. It could be your fellow graduates from high school or college. It could be (gasp), someone thinking of political or religious terms. Perhaps people are demanding you accept their labels? So, how do you handle labels? Well, Dan, can you give me some examples. Just keep doom-scrolling social media or turn on the “news” channels for how this plays out in the “real” world. And, since you asked, here is a short list: Good - Evil Conservative - Liberal (or a version thereof) Ginger, Blonde, Brunette, Blue or Green hair Atheist - Spiritualist Kind - jerk Straight, Gay, Trans, BI or any number of letters with the “+” attached at the end Why do people feel the need to label? Why do they try to convince you “their” label is the only one that counts? Glad you asked. Humans, as a rule, look to seek inclusion, community, belonging, and validation through their labels. This need is so great they will go to great lengths to convince you their labels are valid for them and you. This is also a form of power/control they seek to wield over you. Those who don’t know “WHO” they are will typically fall prey to this gaslighting. Remember, those who seek to divide seek to control. How do you find out “WHO” you are? By investing the time to determine your values for yourself, not what is thrust upon you by well-meaning friends and family. When you do this, you will start to connect with the inner you. And, you will start to fall in love with YOU. The one thing I seek to find is a good HUMAN. Show me a person that seeks to know the inner you with a motive of love and respect rather than impose their own label upon you. That is someone worth knowing. In our current #SOHKBB project, my co-authors are good humans. We don’t agree on everything while recognizing the intrinsic worth of each individual and their own journey. When you begin with the motive of LOVE (the highest form of energy), life will smooth the road in front of you. Take the time to connect with these great humans in the first comment as we get closer each do to our book release.
