  • The Presley Paradox: Race, Sex, and Commodified Teen Fantasies

    Undergraduate Honors Thesis

    During my senior year, I completed an honors research project on teenage culture -- as viewed through the lens of Elvis Presley -- in the 1950s. By analyzing how Presley interacted with race, sexuality, and perceptions of "teen idolhood," I drew original conclusions about the significance of his public and private personas on the postwar American teenager.
