This HBR recommendation is spot on! Improv skills are hugely valuable to creating better listeners, a greater sense of belonging, resilience for unpredictability and freedom to challenge assumptions. And no - it's not cracking jokes on stage. It's applying specific improvisation exercises (which ARE fun) designed to help us tune in, listen, and actually enjoy not knowing the answer and the anticipation of having to think on your feet. And, most importantly, they train you to stop worrying about "I won't know what's next" and create psychological safety so that the team doesn't take itself too seriously and doesn't judge. Take a read and see if you can play one of the improv games. Or better yet, hire a pro like Tracy. Our team had a great time during her workshop. Fun and high scores for "I'd do this again". Lots of active listening and honest dialogue in meetings going forward. (Although that's also the natural magic of this team - they care, listen and share freely all the time.)

The Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment or BEAD Program is a once in a lifetime opportunity to connect all Americans. But to do that, we have to get the requirements around the deployment right. At the recent Connect (X): Powered by WIA conference I spoke about why it’s so important that states' BEAD programs look to trusted and experienced providers like Verizon who have the skills and experienced workforce not just to build correctly, but to maintain and care for those networks and serve residents for years to come.  #broadbandforeveryone #BEAD

The platform features video & written reporting about what it's like to work in our industry, presents training and certification programs, and matches job seekers with opportunities across the United States. New article on Comcast Business's plans. Comcast reported its Q1 results today. As in previous quarters, the EBITDA margin for its business division is very high - 57%; much higher than the other operators we track. It is planning to trade some of this margin for growth, which makes sense. As I argue in this piece business revenue is on the low end compared to peers (when measured as a share of total revenue). https://lnkd.in/eUK8Pd8Q
