refined before launch and continuously tested by QAwerk.
"It wasn't like we had the QAwerk testing team and Magic Mountain team. It was one team working together. The communication was incredible from the very early stages" - Jon Pass, Chief Operating Officer at Magic Mountain.
CHALLENGE
Magic Mountain turned to QAwerk at a point when they were doing a massive redesign of their app to bring it from freemium to subscription-ready. As a startup, they were looking for someone who already has years of experience in testing mobile solutions and could bring that expertise to the table.
Our primary areas of focus were as follows:
- Facebook-Grade Quality;
- Seamless Sync with Wearables;
- Multi-User Interaction.
SOLUTION
To help Magic Mountain achieve the high-quality bar they’ve set for themselves, we conduct different types of tests, such as:
- Functional Testing;
- Regression Testing;
- Integration Testing;
- User Interface Testing.
We test mobile apps only on real devices, and each software tester at QAwerk has several gadgets at their disposal. This approach allowed us to see how the Magic Mountain app behaved on different smartphones, especially when multiple users interacted with the app simultaneously. For a community-building app like Magic Mountain, the interactivity component is essential to its success, so we took our time to scrutinize this functionality.
RESULT
We helped Magic Mountain grow from a simple freemium to a robust subscription-based app. By sharing our expertise and openly speaking about how we feel about the app from the user’s standpoint, we also contributed to improving certain feature implementations.
The Magic Mountain team revealed to us they see continued growth in subscriptions and that progress wouldn’t be possible without a reliable QA partner beside them. -

NEED
As a successfully growing startup, Arctype felt the need to strengthen their development team with experienced QA engineers. They needed someone to follow the best practices and draw on their expertise to create new test cases. This way, developers won’t waste their time on software testing and instead will channel their energy toward feature development and bug fixing.
CHALLENGE
Arctype turned to QAwerk to help them ensure multiple monthly releases go smoothly and with the needed speed. We were expected to run test cases the same day the release was put out. Thanks to the difference in our time zones and overnight testing, it was possible that when Arctype developers log off, it’s daytime here in Ukraine and our QA engineers begin testing. The next day, Arctype developers have all bugs already logged in Jira to start bug fixing first thing in the morning.
RESULT
Here are the types of testing we regularly perform to achieve the desired quality: functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, automation testing, installation testing, smoke testing.
We are proud to know Arctype recognized our commitment to their success by steadily increasing our workload and delegating us more and more functions. What used to be 5 test runs per month is now performed by the QAwerk team weekly. We’ve significantly expanded the number of test cases, removed outdated ones, and detailed the existing ones.
Having witnessed how thorough we are with manual testing, Arctype also entrusted us with test automation. With our support, Arctype has gained confidence and stability in software releases, delivering new capabilities faster and more frequently. -

NEED
Our biggest challenge was to build a fully-functioning product with robust functionality that can be easily customized to the needs of government agencies across the USA. Realizing how ground-breaking this solution can potentially be, we felt immense responsibility to deliver the highest quality app within the set timeframe. We were inspired by C!A’s mission to impact the lives of millions of people dependent on various state-administered programs and took on the challenge.
SOLUTION
Working closely with the C!A team and leveraging the insights contributed by 10th Magnitude, we managed to develop Current – a powerful web app for government agencies to process citizens’ requests within a range of state-administered programs in the USA. With this app, government agencies can deliver public services in an innovative and much more efficient way.
RESULT
With a consolidated effort of the C!A and Redwerk teams, an innovative e-government solution was born. Current is not just a web app for processing citizens’ requests; it’s a powerful platform with the functionality meticulously designed by award-winning change agents – public servants by experience and at heart. We managed to build a positive rapport with C!A, win their trust, and use our expertise to help them transform government systems through the right tech solutions. -

"The QA team has been a great help for the release of our new offering, Unfold for Brands. The team has really put themselves in the place of the user to find any bugs or user experience issues, mitigating any potential issues at launch" - Alfonso Cobo, Head of Unfold at Squarespace
NEED
Our major task was to test Android and iOS versions on all possible devices to make the Unfold app crash-proof and flawless. We worked with pretty tight deadlines, so to release the product updates by the set date, our QA engineers were ready to work extra hours as well as test on weekends, showing utmost responsibility, flexibility, and true commitment to the app’s success.
SOLUTION
Since Unfold’s customer base is growing day by day, we performed compatibility and cross-platform testing to allow everyone interested in the app to enjoy its benefits. As the finishing touch, we did user acceptance testing to fully polish the product. We tested the Unfold app on seven iOS Devices with iOS 10-13 versions and eight Android devices with Android 5-10 versions. All the testing was done on real devices to achieve maximum precision in results.
RESULT
With the Unfold development team and QAwerk engineers’ joint effort, the app has gained a new look and a new feel, attracting millions of users around the globe. Our team was given sufficient flexibility and independence, which allowed QAwerk testers to be fully engaged in the project and thus contribute to enhancing the product. Apart from receiving an increased number of positive reviews in the App Store and Google Play, Unfold got acquired by Squarespace, one of the leading SaaS-based CMSs worldwide. -

"There's a real commitment to get the task done in a timeframe that is expected. The quality of the work is very high. I would certainly recommend working with Redwerk's team" - Robert Severn, VP of Engineering at Evolv Technologies
NEED
At the initial stage of our cooperation, we were tasked mostly with coding UX improvements designed by Evolv’s growth team. CHALLENGE
Our primary tasks were to maintain the desktop and mobile versions of the app and assist in smooth transitioning from one technology to another. QAwerk engineers have worked on the projects of the same complexity level before, so while testing, we considered all possible scenarios for the desktop and mobile versions of the app. A decent amount of test environments and our continuous switch between them also facilitated the testing process, allowing us to discover both crucial and minor bugs.
SOLUTION
As a first step, we prepared a test plan for both parties to agree on all aspects that should be tested, including browsers, platforms, and devices. Our main task was to check whether all features functioned correctly both in the web and mobile versions. To let the client track the progress, we sent daily reports via an email along with suggestions for improving the product’s performance and UI.
RESULT
Manual testing of the Unpakt platform allowed us to detect all functional and non-functional issues both in the web and mobile versions and fix them before a new release. We are proud of contributing to the project that is among the most popular moving services in the USA, and that continually grows and expands its features. -

"I have nothing but great things to say. The quality of work is great, it’s very very fast and the team always come up with suggestions on how to improve things" - Barry Hudson, Co-Founder and CEO at KB&G
NEED
KB&G needed someone who would be ready to fully immerse into the industry specifics, do a lot of math, and write tons of algorithms to select the most suitable ones. On top of that, we were expected to develop a solution that would assure data communication between KB&G’s innovative product and their clients’ legacy systems, often lacking proper documentation.
SOLUTION
Automated smart pricing is a SaaS product designed by construction materials experts for construction materials companies. It’s a robust web app that can be further enhanced and customized to suit KB&G clients’ needs. Its functionality cannot be condensed to one case study, but here are some of the modules we have successfully implemented Quote Generation, Pricing Tiers, Competitors View, Heat Maps, Data Import & Export.
We also built a mobile version of the automated smart pricing app for sales managers to be able to generate quotes on the go.
RESULT
The outcome of our close partnership with KB&G is a modern, scalable, and easily maintainable solution helping construction materials companies achieve sustainable revenue growth. It perfectly complements KB&G’s long-standing consultancy expertise, allowing them to stay at the forefront of the competition and continue to be the industry pioneers and change agents. The automated smart pricing solution is already used by large construction materials companies in the United States, France, and New Zealand. -

The EU e-voting solution was initially developed and maintained by Eurel Informatica SpA. With the course of time and the development of new technologies, the need to modernize it and add additional modules to improve workflows and security arose. And that’s where Redwerk comes in. Eurel partnered with us to strengthen their dev team with Java and DevOps experts and manage projects more efficiently.
CHALLENGE
Our primary task was to develop a small module enabling authorized access to the voting results of various EU Parliament committees. The services we were to deliver aimed at simplifying the data retrieval process while ensuring security through authentication and granular permissions.
While developing the solution, we faced several challenges:
- Proprietary System
- Tech Stack Restriction
- Bureaucracy
Despite the challenges above, we complied with all the requirements specifications and handed over deployment-ready code on time.
SOLUTION
We created an API service responding to users’ queries on the database side. We replicated the system database on our servers to perform comprehensive API debugging remotely.
The second service was responsible for user authentication and was available only within the EU Parliament’s intranet. Upon interaction with the user, the service checks if they’re authenticated, their query, and if they have respective permissions to make such queries.
RESULT
The project was successfully implemented and tested within the initial deadline. A month later, it was deployed to production in the European Parliament and is now fully operational.
And now our code is running under the hood of the EU Parliament e-voting system. The very system that members of the European Parliament used to vote for recognizing Ukraine as an official EU candidate. -

"I’ve sent Redwerk a number of complicated architecture and design tasks, and they’ve pretty much delivered on every one of them provided that I wasn’t asking for something that isn’t technically possible" - Ira Bell, Founding Board Member at Recruit Media.
CHALLENGE
Recruit Media reached out to the Redwerk team with an idea of an innovative recruiting platform focusing on media and relevant search. Our task was to develop a solution that would become a perfect fit both for recruiters and candidates, combine search and apply features, and stand out among other recruiting resources.
SOLUTION

- Search

"We've worked with QAwerk to handle the QA of our native desktop app. They've done a tremendous job and even went out of their way to ensure the quality of the app. We'll continue working with them in the future" - Julien Berthomier, CEO & Co-founder at Station
NEED
Due to regular updates and fast functionality extensions, the app required regular quality assurance. Since the application had to be tested in a short time, within one-two days, it was a challenge for us to catch all bugs, especially when the number of test cases has skyrocketed with the addition of new app integrations. However, with every new test run, we proved that nothing is impossible for our experienced team, so we managed to cope with the assignments in time. We are proud that our client highly appreciated our efforts.
SOLUTION
Regression testing was performed to find and report errors that were affecting the existing features. When running test cases, we made sure that fixing some of the previously reported bugs did not cause others to occur and that every new build was stable. With all new test cases written by our team, the original 22 test cases grew to 541 test cases and counting.We managed to complete the full regression testing within no more than two working days, even considering the numerous test cases we had to go through.
RESULT
Using our hands-on experience in working on projects with tight deadlines, our QA engineers performed full regression testing within the set timeframe. We helped Station discover several critical bugs that required immediate attention as well as malfunctions of minor severity. Since Station keeps working on improving its product, we work with them on an ongoing basis to preserve the app’s functionality regardless of the frequent updates. -

"The team is really supportive, and they are nice people, it's always nice to work with such people. They are really effective at what they do" - Sassoon Scheepers, Business Analyst at Zazu
NEED
Having a team of developers, Zazu could cover all unit testing; however, they were looking for someone to perform user acceptance testing (UAT) and regression testing of iOS and Android apps. Additionally, there was a request to test their back-end admin interface, also referred to as Customer Service Interface (CSI).
SOLUTION
During our collaboration, 99 test cases were written for the iOS/Android app and 55 test cases for CSI. Some of the test cases were updated several times as long as changes in UI/UX occurred or new features were implemented. The main types of testing we used were acceptance testing and regression testing, but during the project, we also performed UI/UX testing, smoke testing, and exploratory testing.
RESULT
The testing of the Zazu app lasted for several months until both of us were sure that all test cases are written, all bugs are found and fixed. Later on, we were happy to receive new requests from clients to update the test cases and perform regression testing as new features were developed and UI was changed. We are excited to see that Zazu continues to grow, and we are proud to be a part of its success. -

Freenet was the first to apply the P2P approach to Internet anonymity, designed with a mission to ensure freedom on the Internet. When Redwerk was offered to contribute to the project development, we were eager to pitch in. We took over part of software upgrade, maintenance, QA, and user support tasks to relieve the workload of the Freenet core development team. Overall, our major goal was to improve Freenet software making it faster and easier to use.
SOLUTION
The main functionality of the project is written in Java and we were glad to apply our expertise. When we started studying the project, we focused on its core, which is Fred (Freenet REference Daemon). It’s the most important part of the software, without which Freenet forums, plugins, and mail would not exist. We also worked on improving the functionality of Freenet’s plugins such as KeepAlive, Library, and Freemail. We managed to enhance the overall software quality and upgrade the plugins that were of special interest to our sponsor.
RESULT
Redwerk helped Freenet enhance its core features and make several plugins fully functional again. All the improvements we have made are essential for retaining existing users, attracting new participants, and spreading the word about the platform and its purpose.
