Today we remember our fallen who have served our Nation. As a Nation we have been blessed with resources, but leadership from many areas are not utilizing these. It is entitled: Houston Storm Reveals Downside of Forced Electrification. xxxxWhy is it that leadership in making rules, regulations and other arcane mandates don't have to follow logic and common sense. In engineering projects there has to be a mass and energy balance of the process resources to be used to make a product. The materials of construction considered, and their source, price, availability and lead time. Also you need utilities such a gas, electricity and others to provide the energy needed to carry out the process efficiently and profitably. As the author points out, you simply can't say that it will happen and that is what it will be...with little or no consequences. Houston has typified the path that they are on, and the consequences. The roaring irony is knowing that energy resources are all around in many areas, and not using them because of the "climate" .....Perhaps what is needed is to change the political climate, that being in leadership. Not just here, but globally. So let's get on with it.... ...."We live in a world with more and more devices that require charging. Nothing shows the downside of that better than the recent storm that hit Houston, where thousands of residents still lack power. Houstonians with electric stoves can’t cook, those with electric water heaters lack hot water—and those with electric cars can’t charge them. The range of an electric vehicle without electricity is zero.  But President Joe Biden’s Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Transportation are requiring that, by 2032, 70% of new cars and 25% of new trucks sold will be electric......" NEXTCHEM to provide technology for DG Fuels’ SAF plant in Louisiana MAIRE announced that NEXTCHEM, through its subsidiary MyRechemical, has been awarded a licensing contract by DG Fuels Louisiana to supply technology for their sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plant in Louisiana, USA. “This landmark award confirms the reliability of our technologies and the role of MAIRE as a key player to enable the industry decarbonisation through circular solutions in a strategic market such as the United States, and globally,” said Alessandro Bernini, CEO, MAIRE.
