What do you do if your PR tools are not giving you the results you want?
Remember: tools are there to help you along, but they are not the reason you succeed or fail with a PR campaign or plan. Tools need to be evaluated and used for what they are good for. There is no magic app to help with all of these tactical tools, so always be on the lookout for one that captures the data you need to adequately evaluate progress with your strategic plan and objectives. It's important to stay on top of new developments.

What do you do if your PR tools are not giving you the results you want?
Throughout my corporate career in communications, I've learned repeatedly that constantly reviewing your goals is a must. Using SMART goals certainly sets you on the right path, but that path can diverge as the business environment changes. Constantly adjusting the goals based on your business objective, which could also change, means asking questions throughout a project or campaign to ensure alignment. The evolution of your goals need not be something that trips up your evaluation or measurements. Use the right tools, and always prepare to adjust and change to meet your needs. Show the results you're bringing to the table and refinement shows growth and maturity in your PR plan and objectives.

Dim the Lights For Tark
After beloved UNLV coach Jerry Tarkanian passed away in 2015, UNLV Alumni Tony Cordasco and Scott Gulbransen started a grassroots campaign to have the famed Las Vegas Strip go dark for one minute to honor him. After starting the campaign, and gaining steam through the use of social media, the resorts, casino operators, and elected officials, helped make it happen through action. The campaign showed the power of an idea and how a community can quickly spark something amazing.
