Interesting piece from Marc Andreessen on how startups are not getting the regulatory support they need to sustain America's technological leadership. "Regulatory agencies have been green lit to use brute force investigations, prosecutions, intimidation, and threats to hobble new industries, such as Blockchain. Regulatory agencies are being green lit in real time to do the same to Artificial Intelligence." Dan Primack had some pointed criticism for #VC yesterday in his Axios Pro Rata newsletter (a daily must read IMO 😤). In short, the model doesn't work if it can't produce exits for LPs. Don't blame public markets (which are at all-time highs) for the lack of liquidity either. 📈 💸 Instead, this is a "liquidity drought of your making" where "...swinging for the fences on every pitch, rather than taking the single or double that's available" is the only way out when you invest at "sky high valuations." 😰 "A whopping 37% of "unicorns" are being held for at least nine years by VC funds, including 13% that are past the 12-year mark." 😳 ⌛ Is he right? Riding the Monday tide! So, here is the game, aggressive goals need aggressive steps! Its been a learning advising growth accelerated start-ups. This is a groovy read, although can lawyers convince their clients the importance of this, I would rate at moderately difficult on the difficulty scale! A stable business can any day outweigh accelerated growth business. Speaking of which, stability may not be an issue with India, at least for sometime now. A stable government goes a long way, people have aligned to the ideologies and operate therein - run the familiar terrain! #tech #product #design #designthinking

What I appreciate most about how we designed the SMArtX Advisory Solutions platform is that we provide software to Turnkey Asset Management Programs as a FinTech, but we prove out every piece of our technology platform by using it to run a TAMP and servicing advisors ourselves. In tech this is called "Eating your own dogfood" or simply "dogfooding". Wikipedia says: "Eating your own dog food or "dogfooding" is the practice of using one's own products or services. Hence dogfooding can act as quality control, and eventually a kind of testimonial advertising. Once in the market, dogfooding can demonstrate developers' confidence in their own products." No matter how you cut it, whether we are servicing them directly or through our enterprise clients; the end consumer is the advisor. And servicing them through an "out-of-the-box" TAMP gives us the unique opportunity to hear the clients needs directly and hone our product and make it a better experience for everyone using it. So let's be both a TAMP and a FinTech while we sing along with Dierks Bentley and agree that SMArtX is "little bit of holy water, but still a little bit burning man"

LLMOps can be boiled down to three things: 1. Make sure the LLM system does what it is supposed to do: eval 2. Make sure the LLM system doesn't do what it is not supposed to do: red-teaming, guardrails 3. Have continuous visibility into the previous two: observability and analytics into dev/test/prod 2 & 3 can be automated or heavily augmented. 1 is the hardest to automate given every LLM application has its own intent. A design pattern for 1 is the continuous articulation of human intent to an AI evaluator, so the AI can execute them. The future of eval tools augment human evaluators by elicit an important set of high-level intent from human and translate that to low-level assertions.
