Have you been to any interactive and immersive exhibits lately? After seeing Omegamart in Las Vegas during my trip to NAB, I feel motivated to emulate the creative capacity and attention to detail present in exhibits like those from Meow Wolf and Moment Factory One of the many trends sweeping the entertainment and live events space is the incorporation of interactive engagements alongside the standard messaging. Using a couple of old webcams from a different time, I created this rough sketch for an interactive installation with Touchdesigner- inspired by a Stereogram installation I came across at Swingers Minigolf in NYC that seemed within reach of my developing skills. Thanks for watching. Here is a brief technical overview: When the user presses a button attached to the setup, a countdown timer starts on an extended monitor and they are given a preview of the active camera. The button can also be incorporated into the display if a touch screen monitor is used. At the end of the count down a series of photos is taken from each camera and then stitched together as a gif boomerang sequence. a mixed reality foreground element is rendered over the images. The file is automatically uploaded to a storage drive on the local network and can be accessed from a tablet for viewing and sharing.

Trying to find a way to upscale video. I've tried every method I could find on the internet, including AnimDiff, IPAdapter, SUPIR, Ultimate SD, Sparse ControlNet, and Tile ControlNet. While the quality is decent, it's still not good enough. I'll be exploring a few more options. Anyone knows a few trick to share?

Visual research project studying shapes created through human motion, inspired by Marey’s chronophotographies. Using real-time voxelized data from an animation (but also from volumetric video or depth camera), multiple sequential frames are aggregated over time. How much does a one-minute video cost? No gatekeeping here. You may have seen video budgets at $1,000 or even $100,000. What gives? Well, video pricing is shaped by a bunch of factors. → Crew → Talent → Concept → Equipment → Video length → Location and permits → Agency expertise/reputation → Revisions and changes → Efficiency and speed → Distribution strategy → Travel and logistics → Exchange rates And while I could go on about countless other variables, I’ll try to keep this post as concise as possible. A common assumption is that video cost is directly tied to video length. We see it a lot. But a 10-second video with a helicopter and explosions is gonna cost way more than a 5-minute interview video. Specialized crew, locations, props, and equipment would all be big factors there, even though the video length is much shorter. The good news? You can create cost effective video campaigns by smartly adjusting these factors—and maybe leave out the helicopter for budget's sake. "Cut to the chase. How much does video cost?" Let’s break down some budget tiers and types of videos. I’m using tiers instead of numbers because, again, video costs vary (I know you’re probably sick of hearing this by now). But at the end of this post I’ll tell you the budgets we typically work with to give you a sense of numbers. $ - REPURPOSING CONTENT Transforming existing footage into new, engaging formats like highlight reels or social media posts. $$ - STOCK VIDEO & TYPOGRAPHY These types of videos offer solid value for specific goals, even if they’re not fully custom. And with AI on the rise, these costs are only going south. $$$ - INTERVIEWS & CASE STUDIES Perfect for internal comms, thought leadership, and showcasing testimonials and case studies. Factors like script writing, filming days, location, travel, video length, and number of interviews all influence cost here. $$$$ - ANIMATION Great for explaining complex concepts or guiding customers through product tutorials. Animators with more experience can create beautiful videos, but their talent comes with a price tag. $$$$$ - COMMERCIAL / LIVE-ACTION Ideal for creating deep emotional connections and brand awareness. Top of funnel awareness, story-driven commercials have the most variables in terms of concept and style, so they also vary the most in terms of budget. ***These tiers are just starting points; the actual cost will vary depending on all the project variables. At Oak + Rumble, our project budgets typically range from $10,000 to $100,000+ CAD. In my opinion… It’s crucial to work with a video agency that you trust. You do get what you pay for. An agency/client dynamic that works towards the same goal and values transparency with the budget numbers is the recipe for success here. On one of my first weeks at Xpedition I went down to LA to visit our set for our Fitbit client in the YouTube Playa Vista studios and it was impressive in size and scale to say the least. 100s of videos made in half a dozen languages in just a few weeks. What I found most impressive, though, was the vibe. Everyone was cheerful, chatty, sharing ideas, having fun, laughing often, music was going, and it felt like one big summer camp inclusive of clients, talent and the 100+ Xpedition crew. All the sets I’d been on before were serious, a top-down-direction approach. Only one person could talk to clients, only the director spoke on set. Talent were spoken at, and only a few people could share ideas. Most everyone was stiff as a board and, if I’m being honest, as a serious young professional out to prove herself I’m sure I contributed right into that tone on more than a few occasions. Imagine my surprise to see how Xpedition ran a soundstage! Vibe aside, the work was actually better. Issues were brought up, ideas came from many, clients raised ideas and concerns on the spot, the talent had a blast and their personalities shone through. The work could get done on time and on budget and people could have fun and contribute. We think all sets should be like this - for the benefit of the work and the people - so my lovely Xpedition colleagues have shared some of their tips for creating collaborative, inclusive sets.
