    “Every business with a website should make search engine optimization, a.k.a. trying to get your site as high up as possible on Google and Bing search result pages, a part of their strategy,” said Matthew Capala during his keynote speech at the beginning of L’Oréal USA’s SEO Bootcamp.

    “SEO is a missed opportunity for L’Oréal,” continued the Internet marketer and the author of Amazon’s best-selling book, SEO Like I’m 5. “The mission of this workshop is to craft the future of digital beauty.” Dozens of L’Oréal creative minds attended this two-day SEO workshop held at Manhattan’s Grand Central Tech on April 2 and 3. This intensive training provided “under-the-hood” tips and tools to understand consumer behaviors.

    At its most basic, SEO means finding ways to increase your site's appearance in web search results. It’s also the tool in which teams need to be proficient in order to have their brand or product show up on social media feeds or basically wherever consumers gather their online-discovering content.


    “Our brands are creating great content, but their challenge is to make sure that this content is properly tagged to show up on discovery platforms,” said Arnaud Plas, VP Digital & E-Commerce Strategy. “It’s a key part of our ‘Always On strategy’ to guide consumers through their path to purchase.
