A 25,000SF Ambulatory Surgery Center built on the USA Mapp Family Campus for Harrod Properties, Surgery Partners, and University of South Alabama Health. The single story ASC contains 6 operating rooms, two alternate procedure rooms, and 24 PACU bays. The project team has been able to work through major vendor delays on the manufacturing of mechanical and electrical equipment and expects to turn over in the summer of 2023.

A new, 3 story, 50,000SF medical office building for Baldwin Family Medicine, Concord Health Development, and University of South Alabama Health. This facility will provide vital healthcare services to the quickly growing Baldwin County area. The MOB contains an imaging suite with MRI, CT, and two X-ray rooms. The Intraoperative MRI suite at UAB Women and Infants Center is another first for the state of Alabama. The two OR suite features an overhead mounted, moveable MRI unit designed to be used during surgery. IMRIS, a global leader in intraoperative MRI technology, provides the only iMRI system in the world with a magnet that travels on a ceiling-mounted rail system between the diagnostic room and two adjacent operating rooms. IMRIS, a global leader in intraoperative MRI technology, provides the only iMRI system in the world with a magnet that travels on a ceiling-mounted rail system between the diagnostic room and two adjacent operating rooms. One of the most interesting challenges of this particular installation include the fact it was completed inside the 5th floor of the existing UAB WIC facility. Combining that with the fact this was the first of its kind for all parties involved provided for an exceptionally interesting project. Kirklin Clinic Package 5 Renovations - another project in a set of long term efforts to renovate the existing Kirklin Clinic building. A multi-floor, multi-phased renovation performed at night brought a new set of challenges to a "clinic renovation job". Our team worked closely with key subcontractor partners to maintain a tight schedule with multiple ADPH inspection deadlines to deliver a successful, on time project for TKC. The 90 ton cyclotron was delivered on a 240’ long truck and set in place with a 600 ton hydraulic crane from the middle of 4th Avenue.

This facility is a ‘one room’ treatment center, housing one cyclotron and one gantry. The 90 ton cyclotron was delivered on a 240’ long truck and set in place with a 600 ton hydraulic crane from the middle of 4th Avenue.

B&G self performed the concrete work, installing over 7,000 cubic yards of concrete, mostly contained in the equipment vault. Shielded concrete requiring a specialized mix and curing standards surrounds the vault with poured walls and ceiling ranging from 8 to 15 feet thick. A stair stepped opening left out in the roof for equipment installation is filled in with precast concrete planks upon completion. Entry to the vault hides behind a 110,000lb shielded bi-parting sliding door.

UAB campus utilities provide heating and cooling from a chilled water and steam loop system. Inside the building, a series of process water loops provide cooling water to multiple equipment interfaces.

Aside from the technical, the facility is visually stunning. Floor to ceiling curtain wall surrounds the entry vestibule, surrounded by custom ‘green wall’ plantings that climb the exterior. A sight for sore eyes in downtown Birmingham. Show less

The 8,000 SF ground up building is an addition to the UHS Brentwood Behavioral facility in Flowood, MS. The 16 bed facility was designed as an inpatient adolescent unit. The unique features of a behavioral hospital require special attention to detail to ensure patient safety. That, a six month schedule, and a tight site with limited access in a flood plain created a special challenge.

A new 11,000sf facility for Columbus Orthopaedics in Starkville, MS included a PT gym, therapy/exam rooms, office space, and an in ground hydrotherapy pool by Hydroworx. Building consisted of concrete shallow foundations, steel structure, brick and metal panel skin with large storefront windows and a bi-folding storefront system that opens the gym to an outdoor patio.

A 36,000sf MOB adjacent to an existing hospital will serve as new office space for various groups.. Currently planned suite buildouts are: Ortho and Imaging, Physical Therapy, OB, and Primary Care.

The scope of work for Grandview Medical Center included the build-out of a 12-story, 1,000,000sf hospital as well as related construction for Daniel Corporation of a 220,000 sq ft POB and 2,900-space parking deck.
In addition to general APM duties on this project, I also served as the manager for all Low Voltage systems in the hospital. Voice & Data, Nurse Call, Security and Access Control, CATV, Infant Security, Overhead Paging.

The 44,000 sq ft facility features an urgent care, laboratory and imaging suite, breast center and a wellness center that will offer yoga classes, massage therapy and reflexology services. It also has offices for primary care and specialty physicians, and a medical equipment retail store. Major challenges included installation of 2 X-Ray rooms, a CT scanner, and a 3T MRI.
