“Laurie is uniquely able to command a room in any business situation and simultaneously be the consummate gracious hostess. She does an excellent job balancing a myriad of responsibilities and a tremendous workload, and I know if she says she will do something, that it will be done. She does a great job managing project timelines and details, and ensures that every partner she works with is enthused and invigorated, with all the information and support they need for a synergistic partnership. I truly feel privileged to have the pleasure to work with Laurie on a regular basis.”

Maryland is about to become the 17th state to enact a comprehensive consumer privacy law. My friends at DG Law discuss Maryland’s law and how it compares to existing state privacy laws. Compliant and ethical data use is essential and there have been some big fines levied for violating CCPA, GDPR, and the like. To read this alert, please visit: https://lnkd.in/dWmat2GC

It was really great to be a part of this and have a chance to meet so many of of the folk that are so critical to the success of cyber security products and solutions. Marketing isn't just fancy words; it's about explaining the value in a way that resonates with the audience. It's about pulling on the differentiation of a solution and connecting. It's about building trust in a brand and creating exposure so meaningful conversations have the opportunity to happen. Awesome to see so many of our customers there, and to meet some new folk that we can add value to as well! If we didn't get a chance to speak there; hit me up and I promise to add some meaningful value to the good work that your doing...and then we can talk about officially working together. 😁 😉 I actually think all CISOs are in marketing and sales...most of them just don't realize it. The sooner they do...the easier their job will be. #ciso #riskmanagement #informationsecurity #digitalmarketing

“On June 13, 2024, the Rhode Island legislature passed the Rhode Island Data Transparency and Privacy Protection Act (SB 2500 / HB 7787). The act will now move to Governor Daniel McKee for consideration. Assuming the act becomes law, it will go into effect on January 1, 2026.” https://gag.gl/lZGcuW Kiteworks helps organizations comply with data privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA by enabling visibility into where customer data is stored, who has access to it, and what's being done with it. An inspiring session with these powerhouse women today! 💡 This event (in partnership with Arctic Wolf) focused on "building a security foundation as inherent as your front door". It was fascinating to hear the group share personal stories, challenges, and strategies in cybersecurity. 💛 Huge thanks to Rachael Coull, Gillian Conway, Clare Loveridge, and Louise Harkness. So happy to be connected, you are all fabulous! ☀ Won't be spilling the beans from this 'safe-space-session', but here a few of my favourite notes: Culture: Prioritize a risk-aware culture that integrates risk management across all departments, blend unified principles with adaptability. Education: Modernize curricula to include tech and cybersecurity, prepare students for the digital demands of future workplaces. Reputation: Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive data and maintain organizational reputation, especially when handling sensitive, high-risk information. 🏆 Once again, a smashing team effort: well done Daley Wilde Alicia Mills Lily-May Catling, Tayma Haddi and Emma Everett! #CyberSecurity #Innovation #DiversityAndInclusion #ResilientGrowth #Spotlight #WomenInBusiness #WomenLeaders #WomenInTech

Leadership is not just about strategy and execution - it’s about human connection. As leaders, we navigate complex challenges and uncertainties every day. That’s why emotional fitness is key. Emotional fitness is our ability to handle stress, pressure, and the unknown with grace and resilience. It allows us to lead our teams by example, helping foster an environment where challenges are met with courage and optimism in order to better prepare us for future challenges. It's like a muscle - the more we exercise it, the stronger it becomes. By setting up physical challenges that push our limits, embracing greater acceptance, and maintaining healthy perspectives, we can proactively improve our ability to face adversity with a clear mind and a steady heart. 💜 I’d love to know: how do you prioritize your emotional fitness in your leadership journey? https://lnkd.in/eiRmQ2c2

Cybersecurity and privacy are broken. I rarely advocate for new regulation, but enough is enough. The US Federal government must do more to hold corporations, their boards, and their executives (not just CISOs) accountable to how they secure PII. The ARPA is a step forward in that direction, but it doesn't go anywhere near far enough. I fully support the message Charles Henderson laid out in the post below. What are your thoughts? Do you think regulation is needed, or would it just make things worse?
