  • 5G transport Design Strategies, Considerations and Best Practices

    Cisco Live

With the introduction of centralized, cloud and open virtual RAN, Mobile Backhaul has evolved into xHaul comprising the Fronthaul, MidHaul and Bachaul domains. While backhaul requirements and design practices are somewhat well understood, packetized Fronthaul and Midhaul are entirely new access domains with little to no deployments worldwide.

This session will discuss various O-RAN compliant xHaul deployment scenario as well as discuss design best practices and consideration for each…

While backhaul requirements and design practices are somewhat well understood, packetized Fronthaul and Midhaul are entirely new access domains with little to no deployments worldwide.

This session will discuss various O-RAN compliant xHaul deployment scenario as well as discuss design best practices and consideration for each xHaul domain (Fronthaul, Midhaul and Backhaul). Design consideration will include things like topological considerations, C-RAN hub site selection, bandwidth dimension and VPN service consideration to align with network requirements as outlined by O-RAN. This session will also discuss redundancy, automation and scale mechanisms in relation to O-RAN Packet Switched xHaul Architecture specifications.

  • TECSPG-2801: Next Generation Network Architectures: Design, Deployment and Operations

    Cisco Live US 2019

This session will walk the attendees through a Network architecture from inception and design to deployment and Operation. We will talk about programmable infrastructure design, using Segment Routing and Traffic Engineering using Path Control Element (PCE) to steer traffic based on application needs rather than a pre-determined path. This session will cover the use of network controllers to abstract a network topology and push required configurations dynamically through programetic…

This session will walk the attendees through a Network architecture from inception and design to deployment and Operation. We will talk about programmable infrastructure design, using Segment Routing and Traffic Engineering using Path Control Element (PCE) to steer traffic based on application needs rather than a pre-determined path. This session will cover the use of network controllers to abstract a network topology and push required configurations dynamically through programetic interface.

During this session we will also cover network and services deployment and orchatration using various orachastration and automation tools and technologies such as Network Services Orchatrator (NSO), Zero Touch Deployment (ZTD) and Application Driven Usecases

  • Achieving fast restoration times in IP networks for IPTV Video Transport

Recent deployments of IP based TV services have increased the importance of fast restoration times for service providers. For IP networks, fast service restoration requires fast convergence. The reliability of the IP network is compared to the TDM based networks used traditionally for video transport.

This paper discusses network layers and protocols involved in the IP TV networks and how to achieve fast convergence for each of the contributing protocols
