Some quick Friday morning copy thoughts: I love this messaging from Reinhart Foodservice for three reasons: 1. It’s a terrific, visual CTA that emphasizes quality without actually mentioning quality. Clever. 2. It promotes their clientele while prompting the reader to ask an important question: “Where are they currently delivering?” 3. Promoting their clientele directly supports their own business (the better their clients do, the more those clients will order from Reinhart). Reinhart is a B2B company, but they’ve found a way to market directly to the consumer. Again, clever! #copywriting #marketing #contentmarketing

Yet another obligatory National Restaurant Association post. Excited to see so many friends there, if we haven't met feel free to come up and say hi. A few key suggestions (for first timers or someone wanting to optimize your show). 1. The show is big, really big, so map out the must hits for yourself (floor plan is great for this), wear comfy walking shoes (nobody will care if your in sneakers), and hyrdate. 2. Uber's/Taxi's etc. are a nightmare during peak exit hours (towards the end of the day). Don't try to leave in an Uber 30 minutes before your dinner reservation (also speaking of reservations don't make 4 and cancel 3 the day of) . 3. Come with some clear goals in mind of what you want to see (though leave a bit of time for surprises). Personally I'm excited to look at RATIONAL AG to see what new combi products they have, a couple of the automation providers on the kitchen equipment side, what if any offerings are new innovative on the HCM side and then finally try some new food items for inspiration. 4. The best part of the show is bumping into people you haven't seen or have only seen online (it's welcomed when people come up and say I love the content you post online, I'm curious about XYZ, etc.), the point of going to a show is meeting other people (they are there for the same thing). 5. This was such a fun and informative Distill Ventures seminar I got to participate in moderated by Derek Brown. This is part of a series with topics Derek and DV have designed around all aspects of navigating the non-alcoholic category. 🍸🍹 People tend to lump what we are seeing with NA options into “the latest trend,” but really, this is unlike anything any of us have seen before, (mostly because we weren’t alive!) This isn’t like the tequila craze, or the bourbon boom; those were/are trends resulting from the masses RE-discovering, ( with a little help from celebrities and marketing 💰) a spirit, and then the world deep diving into them. Those options were always around, people just started paying more attention. With non-alcoholic spirits, what we are witnessing is the result of pure innovation! This is a BRAND NEW category (that didn’t even exist prior to 2015 ) JUST getting going. It’s like seeing the invention of gin in the 1500’s or vodka in the 1100’s! 🤯This is an entirely new spirit category and an option that I would guess ( based on everyday conversation) 1/3 people still don’t realize exists for them. If you haven’t checked these seminars out, definitely do! They have already covered some great topics, and will continue to do so. As someone who specializes in the beverage space, it comes as no surprise to me that non-alcoholic and beverage inclusions (such as boba) were enormously popular this year at the NRA. Every piece of trend data I look at indicates that non-alcoholic beverages skew heavy with Gen Z, Millennials, and women. It makes sense then that more and more operators are seeing opportunity in the N/A space. Extra points for anyone who takes it a step further to make craft N/A beverages...those are blowing up! Where drink inclusions are concerned, this trend has Gen Z written all over it. Young people are treating beverages as more of a "treat yo'self" moment, particularly as menu prices increase. As such, beverages have become a makeshift meal for a lot of folks. Operators that can add texture and substance to their beverages will find themselves increasing beverage purchases at a higher price point than typical CSD or iced tea. Not to mention, restaurants who do it well will become a destination. There are a lot of things out there that can fit the texture bill from boba to popping pearls, but you know me...I'm all about those fruit pieces!

This is interesting... how many of you are here? We officially launched F&B Insights to market nationally --now working with over 40 operators. F&B Insights announces public launch   F&B Insights, a platform that helps bars, restaurants and hotels streamline partnerships with suppliers, monetize sales data, reduce turnover and raise profits, officially announced its public launch on Thursday.   The company aims to turn restaurant data into revenue streams for operations, working to transform the way establishments in the food-and-beverage industry make decisions about the prices on their menus.   During its pilot phase, F&B Insights serviced more than 40 businesses. The work was shown to add 1% to 3% more revenue per total beverage spend for each customer.   "F&B Insights has a great vision for operator and supplier relationships and undoubtedly will help us streamline and strengthen our partnerships while looking out for our best interests," Anthony Hitchcock, COO of Flagship Restaurant Group, said in a statement about the launch.
