What are some best practices for delivering feedback remotely?
A common myth for managers is to only focus on identifying things that can be done better. Positive feedback is extremely powerful affirmation to help employees learn what is valued hence they will continue reinforce such behavior. There is an anecdote that managers should deliver 7 times more positive feedback than suggested improvement.

How do you handle feedback and conflict within your team?
We are all human. Sometimes despite our best effort, emotions show. It’s ok to be vulnerable and share with others the context and reasons for our emotions. They key and foundation is to be authentic and respectful. Emotions on top of these foundations are often healthier that help strengthen our work relationships.

How do you foster a culture of open and honest communication in your team?
Adapting the message to your audience is critical. The foundation of this is compassion. Be compassionate to your audience and be in their shoes to examine your communication. Does it have the right context for your audience? Right format and visualization? Right altitude, with the right amount of details? Replace jargons that won’t make sense for the broader audience? Customize these as much as possible is an important step toward effective communication.
