Our group undertook research projects, held meetings at local community centers, hosted presentations at UBC, and conducted letter-writing campaigns to lobby the Canadian Government in favour of increasing Canada’s exportation of life-saving anti retroviral HIV medication to developing countries. "Our aim is to inspire people to form personal opinions while thinking critically about AIDS. We do this by presenting different points of view of often controversial arguments. AIDS In Context focuses on individuals within communities, trying to avoid generalizations about who is affected by AIDS. We hope to promote understanding and empathy throughout generations and cultures."
