Worked with Habitat for Humanity to lead a repair team of volunteers to refurbish the exterior of three homes along the 5th Ward in New Orleans over a four day span, replacing the windows and repainting the walls. In addition, I served at a New Orleans Charter school, spending the day in the classroom with children ranging from kindergarten to eighth grade. From this experience as group leader, I improved my capacity for task management as I oversaw these two projects simultaneously. Disaster and Humanitarian Relief

Traveled to Gary, West Virginia, working in a demolition team responsible for the safe removal of a portion of decaying roof and dilapidated back room. Reconstructed the replacement wall and put a new roof in place, working with the homeowner over a span of five days. This was my first major experience in volunteer work and served as a catalyst that inspired my passions to serve others and take on large projects that benefit those around me.
