About

I’m the Director of TOTALLY REPS- a visual artist representation agency based in Brooklyn.

I truly love being an agent for visual artists. It's extremely rewarding to advocate for artists while observing their creative processes and then see their artwork out in the world. The icing on the cake is cultivating long-lasting friendships with the clients we're lucky to work with.

Alongside agenting for artists and animators,I participate in illustration industry-related talks, workshops, and portfolio reviews regularly, including speaking annually at The School of Visual Arts' Illustration and Visual Storytelling program. I will be teaching a weekly class there starting in the Fall Semester of 2024.

I've happily served on the D&AD Illustration Jury (2023, and soon on the 2024 jury), the D&AD New Blood Jury (2022), and as D&AD Jury President for Illustration (2021), and participated in industry podcasts including the On Design Podcast, Goodtype’s The Typecast, and The Illustration Department. I just worked with Inkygoodness to create a Masterclass: "Craft Your Portfolio," and recently gave a talk at Irregular Hours about my extremely random career journey.

My background includes obtaining BFA and MFA degrees in painting- and although my studio practice is on hold for now, I get to live vicariously through the talented roster of artists I'm lucky to rep and collaborate with.

Origin story:
A first-generation American raised in Bethesda, MD by lovingly supportive Iranian parents who humored my penchant for drawing on walls while costing them rent deposits, I painted my way through high school, winning one of the five Scholastic Art & Writing's National Portfolio Awards- and attended Boston University's College of Fine Arts on scholarship, receiving a BFA in Painting. After some joyously misspent years, I attended grad school at Pratt Institute, where I obtained a Master of Fine Arts in Painting, a Master of Science in Art History, and an invaluable education in extreme student loan debt.

I've participated in countless random jobs- from non-profit arts admin, telemarketer (SORRY), floor sweeper at my mom's hair salon, to photo/illustrations editor for The New York Observer and a couple of National Geographic Books. This myriad of experiences thankfully led to working directly with artists as an agent for illustration and creative production.

I currently live and work in Brooklyn, NYC with my husband, young son, and two destructive cats.
