Building new products that solve our customers' varied needs and problems is something that I cherish. Doing that at Amazon at the scale that it caters to is a different challenge in itself. After months of collaborations, negotiations, learnings, feedback, meetings, beta, testing, intense discussions and what not, it is heartening to see our new product, Business Giving, out in the open world. Last week, we launched Business Giving in US, a simple and easy-to-use tool to distribute items to others, without the additional overhead for organizations to collect information and preferences from the recipients, ordering on their behalf, and packing, storing and delivering items. Read here for more details: https://lnkd.in/gb_4JThn As it is with any product launch, this is just the beginning of a long journey. Excited to see how our customers like it! #productmanagement

From my experience, event #analytics software can satisfy most #product development #data needs. However, the data quality is the main reason companies prefer to use #BI tools. Does it have to be like this? Quality > Speed With new features being introduced, Mixpanel shows that quality insights can be done quickly. Quality & Speed

I recently came across this insightful article titled “Who stole the cookies from the cookie jar?” by Abhijat Shukla. The piece outlines the shift towards first-party data and the importance of ethical data practices with some insightful examples. It’s heartening to see the emphasis on respecting consumers’ privacy and the necessity of seeking permission before reaching out. This not only would be regulation-compliant in future, but also fosters trust, which is invaluable in any relationship. Or as Abhijat aptly phrases it: Trust is a brand's greatest currency💰 As a consumer residing in the EU, I quite appreciate the stringent GDPR regulations that prioritize consumer privacy. The need for similar Data Protection regulations in India has been a topic for discussion since quite some time. However, irrespective of regulations, Indian brands should adopt this approach because it fosters trust, shows respect, and ultimately leads to deeper customer loyalty. Let’s embrace this change and build a future where data is harnessed both ethically and effectively 🚀 #DataPrivacy #FirstPartyData #GDPR #CustomerLoyalty

I've been thinking a bit about enterprise agents and automations within companies after reading this thought-provoking post (https://lnkd.in/gSgxskrv). Thanks to Ali Arsanjani, PhD for sharing. Could systems like Glean that are connected to other systems across an enterprise and see an enterprise's entire set of queries/prompts use an LLM to see patterns in a company's prompts and start suggesting agents or automations to build (or even create these automations/agents automatically), and surface them to the types of users who'd find the agents/automations most useful? Imagine something like this. The enterprise LLM notices many sales and support people asking about a certain feature. It starts suggesting that prompt to others who'd be interested. It then drafts suggested changes to the product FAQ and routes changes for approvals. When the updates are approved, it notifies sales and support. Self-optimizing enterprises, here we come!

Useful information for anyone making the switch from a traditional data collection strategy to one utilizing a customer data platform. Even if you've already rolled out your CDP this is a good read to validate your data is structured in a way to get the most out of your downstream platforms.

Within the data management space, the concept of “composable CDPs” has taken shape suggesting prospective Customer Data Platform buyers simply use a thin activation layer on top of their existing data warehouse. However, this strategy by itself falls short when attempting to power real-time and advanced use cases. There are also claims around reducing the need to copy customer data, sometimes "zero data copy" but the reality is data warehouses alone are not equipped to handle all use cases, particularly use cases which require real-time workloads to support in-the-moment engagements. Adobe is introducing Federated Audience Composition in Experience Platform to access and create audiences with corresponding high-value attributes from enterprise data warehouses Using Federated Audience Composition, a virtual database is created by linking remote databases through metadata. The goal is to "Compose the data, not the application" https://lnkd.in/gqUQAFmh #aep #rtcdp #customerdatamanagement #customerexperience

Dear network, I’ve been navigating the wild world of data for over 10 years, diving deep into data engineering, analytics, and data products (BI and AI) across e-commerce, healthcare, retail, fintech, and consultancy. Lately, I’ve had quite a few folks reaching out for career advice and learning tips. So, I thought, why not share the data love? Whether you use data, love data, are amazed by data, or feel tortured by it (hopefully not too much!), I’m offering 30 minutes of free consultation. Let’s chat, exchange ideas, and uncover some of the fun and magic hidden in data. If you’re up for a virtual coffee or an in-person one (if you’re in Singapore), PM me and let’s make data fun together! 😎 😎

Ola Krutrim , India’s first AI unicorn, recently launched its LLM, Krutrim-7B-chat. This new model is trained in 10 Indian languages and is available on Databricks Marketplace. It can generate text in Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam, Gujarati, Bengali, and Kannada. This is the first of several India-specific models trained by Ola Krutrim. It has been trained on a massive dataset of Indic languages— “Krutrim delivers text infused with Indian sensibilities and cultural awareness.” Check out the model here. The announcement came to light at the Data Intelligence Day in Mumbai on May 10, 2024, by Gautam Bhargava, VP & Head of AI Engineering at Krutrim. “We’re excited to be at the forefront of building foundational LLMs trained on Indian languages to better serve our customers in India. We have been working very closely with the Databricks team to pre-train and finetune our foundational LLM,” said Bhargava. He added, “We are confident that Krutrim, our base model, will be able to provide high-quality responses in Indian languages and dialects.” According to Bhargava, Krutrim was trained using Databricks Mosaic AI Training’s GPU orchestration and system optimisations, enabling state-of-the-art generative AI solutions for customers globally. The model is now available on the Databricks Marketplace.

#Amaversary Celebrating seven years at Amazon today! The 'every-day' passes so swiftly, that a milestone like 'seven years' tends to make you a little reflective. If there is one thing that continually makes working at Amazon a delightful experience for me, it is our culture of invention. Sharing my favorite 4 quotes that reflect this culture best. Could I have chosen 7 quotes for 7 years - sure! But that's another thing I've learnt - don't follow something just bcz it is status quo 😋 Here we go: 1. “We are stubborn on vision. We are flexible on details.” 2. “Our success at Amazon is a function of how many experiments we do per year, per month, per week, per day. If you double the number of experiments you do per year, you’re going to double your inventiveness.” 3. "We need big failures in order to move the needle. If we don’t, we’re not swinging enough. You really should be swinging hard, and you will fail, but that’s okay." 4. "Keep inventing, and don’t despair when at first the idea looks crazy. Remember to wander. Let curiosity be your compass. It remains Day 1" Looking forward to more of this! 😀
