We made this Baked Rigatoni dish at the School Food Rocks® Training and Innovation Center this weekend, it is a delicious and hearty dish that combines rigatoni pasta with a flavorful sauce made from San Marzano tomatoes, basil, béchamel, ground beef, and pork. Here's how you can make it at home: Ingredients: - Rigatoni pasta - Canned San Marzano tomatoes - Fresh basil leaves - Béchamel sauce - Ground beef and pork (or you can use either one) - Mozzarella cheese - Olive oil for cooking Instructions: 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F 2. Cook the rigatoni pasta according to the package instructions until it is al dente. Drain and set aside. 3. In a large skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and pork to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper to taste. 4. Add the San Marzano tomatoes to the skillet, crushing them with a spoon. Stir in the fresh basil leaves and let the sauce simmer for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. 5. In a separate saucepan, prepare the béchamel sauce. You can make it by melting butter, adding flour to make a roux, and then gradually whisking in milk until it thickens. Season the béchamel sauce with nutmeg, salt, and pepper. 6. Combine the cooked rigatoni pasta with the meat sauce and then add the béchamel sauce. Mix everything together until the pasta is evenly coated. 7. Transfer the mixture into a baking dish and top it with shredded mozzarella cheese, ensuring the pasta is fully covered. 8. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown on top. 9. Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. The result is a mouthwatering baked rigatoni dish with a rich and flavorful sauce, tender pasta, and a golden brown, bubbly layer of melted mozzarella on top.. Enjoy! 🍝🧀

Aaron is very vocal on the subject and Joe is publishing a book on it. The IFA has started to discuss its meaning, too. Franchising is built to support the franchisor. This is not wrong by any means. But we should start with supporting the first-time franchisee, and figure out a way to add more transparency to the process. Why? When we start with recruiting the right franchisees, we bring on matches (financially qualified and culture fit), they then get out of the gates stronger, they scale, they remain happy and motivated, and they exit positively. Responsible starts in the way we "sell" them. Disclosures are accurate and we truly vet them for the best possible outcome. Successful franchisees are the true secret to selling more franchises. When responsible with life savings and potential, franchisors make money. When responsible with PE, franchisees continue to make the next owner more money. So many things to talk about on Thursday. We are proud to have so many 25+ years awesome owners! Memories made and communities embraced by hard working families. Owners that have canceled vacations, missed dinners, taken risks, survived the ups and downs of owning a business, lost sleep, covered shifts when employees didn’t show up, worried about making payroll……all to be an owner of a business and fulfill a dream. Not everyone is cut out for it but we are grateful for those that are a part of Pizza Factory. Business owners creating jobs and training many, many teenagers every day that need a role model and work ethic modeled for them. Small business owners, sole proprietor or franchisee, making a difference. Share their story. Their faces and stories are important to show what being a small business owner really is.

Yesterday marked National Craft Distillery Day, providing a pause moment to reflect on our incredible journey. Over the past decade, the craft distilling industry has experienced remarkable growth, and yet, I've witnessed firsthand how the Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) can haunt entrepreneurs. In this industry, "going all in" holds a unique meaning for each of us. At Durham Distillery | Conniption Gin, it meant a bold commitment to one category: gin. We placed our bet on American gin. It holds immense potential, but it's not without its challenges. We are tasked with reintroducing it as a leading white spirit in this country and educating consumers that gin is naturally flavored vodka. Those unpleasant college memories of harsh London Dry gins? Total anomalies. Our mission is to ensure people understand that with the right gin, magic happens. Starting a craft gin distillery is not for the faint-hearted. FOMO is always present – it seems like everyone else has more resources, more people, more $$$$. We've seen other American gins backed by celebrities, but that’s not our path. We chose to be the rebels, to carve our own path, and to believe in Conniption Gin and our incredible team, from brand champions to our distributor partners. It's all about passion and perseverance – knowing that small steps can lead to giant leaps. Embracing the FOMO has been part of our story. While it can be a powerful motivator, pushing us to innovate and stay ahead, it also reminds us of the unique path we've chosen. Instead of chasing trends or celebrity endorsements, we've focused on what makes Conniption Gin special – our dedication to quality and our connection with our customers. The real joy comes from our gin lovers. Meeting customers who enjoy our gin, gift it to friends, or share their cocktail recipes with us is truly fulfilling and reminds me why we embarked on this adventure. Each positive interaction makes this marathon worthwhile. There are no shortcuts, and while I sometimes wish I could sprint to the finish line where Conniption Gin is the beloved American gin of choice, I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything.
