Summer Learn Bot is a chatbot created to provide information about the Summer Learn program at MVNU. It was designed and written as a team of three developers. The goal was to create a chatbot that could answer questions about Summer Learn in both accurately and quickly.
The project consisted of two parts: The front end website and the backend API. The API was written in JavaScript using Node.js and used a MySQL database for caching. Information for the API was retrieved using the Google Sheets API and then stored in said database cache. The website was written using HTML/CSS/JS and connected to Dialogflow for natural language processing, which subsequently connected to the API.
The project proved to be great experience in interacting with a client and implementing a system to their specification.

  • Distribution List Generator

    -

Distribution List Generator is the final implementation of a database I had to design for a class. First, the database was designed and created using SQL. Then, the implementation was built using HTML/CSS/JS using Express as a back-end web server with Handlebars templating. The project was a great exploration in connecting programs created in Node with a MySQL database.
