Visual research project studying shapes created through human motion, inspired by Marey’s chronophotographies. Using real-time voxelized data from an animation (but also from volumetric video or depth camera), multiple sequential frames are aggregated over time. Luma AI’s new tool Dream Machine has been all over the internet for the past few days, so I figured I’d share what I was able to create. I just wanted to see what it is capable of so I ran some Midjourney images through and added some text prompts with the image. It works best with image + text prompts. The full length of the videos is about 5 seconds, which is a little longer than Runway. And it’s better than Pika IMO. Looking forward to playing around with this some more! Ok Luma AI 👏 👏 I didn’t think anything would come close to Runways capabilities but I was proven wrong - happily. 🧪 I’ve been testing all the new video AI tools that’s been popping up bts and not really been thrilled because a majority of them seem to have a plasticky look/ sharpened filter/ lose stability pretty easily (so does Luma and Runway but they hold out longer) 🧠 What also needs to be kept in mind is that none of these tools are mind readers- you need to be super specific with what you’re looking for / source image needs to be spot on. Else you’re going to let the AI’s intrusive thoughts take over (which it always does in the videos- it’s just edited out - will be posting the intrusive thoughts results in the comments) #genai #ai #productdesign #artificialintelligence #creativedirection

I am going to come out with it. I used to be a Premier guy because it was what I knew. But it had too many problems and I ended up becoming a Final Cut Pro guy. So, why? 1. Company work called for it. They preferred FCP. I had to adapt. 2. Premiere crashed a lot. It became counter-productive and I was sick and tired of losing work. 3. It was alarmingly slow. FCP saved me hours of time just on background rendering alone. Now A.I has just entered the chat and we all know what a game-changer that is. So, here is the question. Is Premiere pro even reliable enough to power this thing? How often will it crash? Also, how expensive is it going to be? Here is the next question for those FCP fans like me out there. Will Apple step up? The last couple of years shows that FCP has been falling behind on innovation and trends. Might be time for a change. Davinci or Premiere Pro?

Yes, yes I know, the amount of Luma AIs Dream Machine videos is already overwhelming… To be honest: it was frustrating! - Text to video: results were 🤦 - Image-to-video: took a lot of trial and error until I finally got a result I can live with So yes, the content I see is impressive, but the prompt ratio (formerly known as shooting ratio) is pretty high… Maybe it’s just me sucking at prompting… 🤷‍♂️ #ai #genai #lumalabs #dreammachine

ToonCrafter was released just a few days ago and its ability to produce smooth and natural animations in 2D environment is rather impressive. Luma AI Dream Machine test I tested photo-to-video generation and the results are quite impressive: - the generated characters still look very much like me, - original canvas texture is retained (2 shot), - and water animation is convincing. To help with the generation, I used a prompt: "overall plan, girl sitting in the water of a lake, night, shimmering light, breaking water, splashes." really looking forward to new control tools becoming available 😏

Now what's the obvious question for us all maybe, when watching and experiencing these "real time virtual reality" simulations and AI growth and then reading these recent comments here on LinkedIn and when as well seeing the growing number of reports in media about rising abilities of #AI and #VR etc. ... Q: I'd like to ask these: => What is an obvious question ... behind all this?  = How real is our reality? Yes! There is a serious branch of physics (and quantum mechanics and other sciences being involved) into a growing discussion about the "reality" of our world. (touching questions of spirituality and ancient philosophies, too) Be it as it might be - if living in a real world or living in a simulated universe: The responsibility in this world here and now is on us. And: Isn't this then even better, having in mind to maybe live in a sim? Because I get the feeling that we could and should actively build our own positive good future just by being active for this here and coming already now and here today.
