“Mr. David Conwell worked as a research assistant for 2.5 months in Mexico from May to July 2010. As part of a group of 4-9 international students, he was involved in a variety of work related to projects and monitoring activities on Volcán de Colima. He helped with collection of samples and field measurements of volcanic gases, spring waters and thermal emission. In the lab his participation included the analysis of seismic data and the thermal emission of the current growing lava dome. He rapidly grasped the concepts and the use of specific analysis software with minimal supervision. David showed great enthusiasm and dedication to get the work done. He adapted very quickly to different working environments and was also a very composed member of the group. He consistently demonstrated his capacity to work equally well individually or as part of a group, with his flair as a leader becoming obvious on many occasions.”
