Signs your influencer campaign isn't as successful as those hundreds of Likes would have you think: -> The influencer doesn't fit with your brand values and messaging -> You're not seeing any conversions on their promo code -> Their engagement-to-follower ratio is suspiciously low (meaning, a lot of fake followers) -> They have a history of working with competitors or similar products -> Comments are AI-generated -> The content created by the influencer looks eerily similar to something they did for another brand When choosing influencers to work with, do your research and make sure they align with your brand and have an authentic following. There are lots of levers you can pull to optimize an influencer gifting program. Here's one that is sometimes overlooked though... Product selection. No matter how good your influencer discovery process is, how well you craft your outreach email (etc.).. Everything falls flat if you don't offer the right products. Especially if you're doing "no-strings attached" (rather than barter deals for deliverables). You could: a) Offer the entire product catalog, let influencers choose what they want. You'll maximize the chances they'll post something. The downside? They might choose something which you *know* isn't popular, and doesn't sell. b) Offer a specific product that you want to promote. You're in control, you can optimize all your efforts & budget towards your priority product. But, you'll get a lower acceptance rate & posting rate. c) Something in-between. Offer choice, but not the entire catalog. A curated selection of products you know will sell well. If your goal is to drive immediate sales via codes/links, C is likely your best bet. Provide as much choice as possible to maximize post rates, but remove the least popular sellers. If your goal is to achieve maximum brand awareness, and/or the most possible units of content, go with A (offer the whole catalog). And if you do that, steal 📷 Mark Dandy's tip: 🗨️ "Create a closed category with collections you want to offer to influencers. Put your top choices first on page one. That way, you still provide choice, but increase the chance your preferred products will be picked." What’s a bigger lever than paid ads, SEO, & influencer marketing for a DTC brand? To the surprise of many, its email flows. Once they’re dialed-in, they’re the closest thing you’ll ever have to a legal money printer. Most brands have picked up on this, yet there are still criminally few brands that utilize every email flow at their disposal. For example, many DTC brands have an abandoned checkout flow but aren’t aware they also need an abandoned add-to-cart flow. Here’s a screenshot of two flows we built for a DTC brand. They were missing the Abandoned Add-To-Cart flow, while their ‘standard’ Abandoned checkout flow wasn’t performing well. We added over $33,000 of monthly revenue to their business on autopilot. Here's how we operate at Kynship: 1. Using financial forecasting to set benchmarks If you don't know first order profitability (based on unit economics), how can you expect to run profitable ads? This is where most agencies mess up, not digging into your numbers and creating an accurate forecast based on profitable CPA targets. 2.
