“I collaborated with Chris during the design and launch of two member-critical and institute-wide products at the American Institute of Architects. Chris understands the full spectrum of user experience design, from user research and information architecture, to interaction design, visual design, content strategy, usability, etc., and he brings a deep understanding of human-centered design methods. Chris is a versatile designer with high visual design chops, knowledge of front-end engineering, fluency in all the latest prototyping tools, management experience, etc. He is also a people-focused designer, always considering user data and bringing data-driven design to the table. One big differentiator is his ability to understand the much larger systems at play when formulating a design solution. Having observed Chris work within an organization that struggled to understand the value of user experience design, I appreciated his ability to evangelize design thinking and user-centric solutions. Chris brought a positive energy and depth of knowledge that motivated our team to pursue the best design solutions. ”

37 Reasons to Give a Damn About the Disabled
Computech, Inc.
My presentation talks audiences through the basic Hows and Whys of accessibility design, focused for websites and web-based application. I show the types of devices the disabled use to access the web, and present videos of real people using them. My participants then learn practical tips for how to make websites and apps more accessible, and they also get a hands-on experience to try out a screen reader experience for some real empathy and perspective.

AIA - Continuing Education Providers' Renewal
- Present
The American Institute of Architects has a robust continuing education system (CES) for its members, including, as of Q1 2013, an online system called "MyCES" in which Members and Non-Members are able to track the progress of their education credits towards AIA's membership requirements (and soon in the future, for individual states). This project expanded that system to allow the education Providers themselves the same ability for managing their own organization and financial data.

When I began at AIA, there was no knowledge of how these disparate systems connect, how customers really voyage through the Convention websites and applications. I was tasked with improving return visitor rates, and registration numbers, as well as improving the Convention's brand and perception.Other creatorsSee project -
AIA Cities
- Present
AIA Cities was created by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) to allow architects to speak to architectural enthusiasts and the general public about design. Originally powered by Broadcastr, and now by Google Field Trip, it is a geo-targeted mobile application allowing media to play by a site's location. Visitors of the architectural tours are able to learn more about a space or structure they are in directly from the architects who designed them.

Historically, anyone working with the Institute have not been able to manage their own data, directly. Changes to their own employment, education, have been done through the Membership department. This will start out with Membership data only, and slowly expand to contain e-commerce transaction records, Continuing Education progress and credits, local chapter membership, and (hopefully) even a robust Firm and Member portfolio system.
