Charlene Burke clearly lays out the steps to setting up each of the major social media platforms, how to create and share content, and how to measure and adjust for audience response. Also helpful are her instructions on how to use metrics available on most social media platforms to boost response to an already successful post.

    Along with the basics of setting up and maintaining social media accounts, Burke also educates on how to set up overall marketing strategies for social media. Rather than using a hit or miss approach many businesses employ, she shows how to craft a marketing plan to meet your unique marketing objectives using specific tools many people are unaware of. This includes setting up ways to automate parts of your social media efforts to allow time for content creation and other tasks that cannot be automated.

    Burke is quick to point out in the Disclaimer section that social media platforms are ever-changing tools. There will be features of each platform that will change in function or benefit to marketers. But the over-arching message of the book is sound and timeless. “Focus on the principles and strategies because they work every time.”
