    Sofiac has been given the prestigious honor of receiving a Governor's Service Award for their free working groups which is presented by the Governor's Office on Service and Volunteerism (GOSV). It is given to Maryland citizens and a company for significant contributions to the life and health of the State and its people during 2012. It is given to Maryland citizens and a company for significant contributions to the life and health of the State and its people during 2012. The award is presented to those who display the following characteristics: Demonstrate sustained commitment to meeting Maryland's most pressing human and/or environmental community needs through volunteerism; Engage in meaningful volunteer service that makes a measurable difference in the community; Represent extraordinary acts of generosity and kindness; and Have an impact on the greater community. The Governor's Office on Service and Volunteerism has been celebrating the Service of Maryland's extraordinary volunteers for 30 years.
