*Mixture of Agents (MoA)* is an innovative way to boost Large Language Models’ performance by leveraging the strengths of multiple agents as a team. Layered Architecture: MoA arranges many LLMs in layered architecture, each layer composed of numerous individual agents(LLMs). Collaboration: These agents generate responses that are based on outputs from the previous layer’s agents. They repeatedly refine and enhance the last output. Diverse Insights: By integrating different capabilities and insights from various models, MoA achieves a more powerful combined model that is secure against diverse risks. Performance Boost: MoA outperforms standalone LLMs by a wide margin. For instance, it set a new benchmark with 65.1% on AlpacaEval 2.0 as against GPT-4 Omni at 57.5%, using only open-source models. In short, if we combine language modelers’ strengths then it results in increased efficiency and versatility. For those who missed the Snowflake Data Summit keynote; here’s my GeneAI summarization :-) 1) Sridhar the new Snowflake CEO is smart as a pup and amazing academic and career pedigree, but has very little charisma or public speaking skills. Hope he improves on the latter over time. 2) Jensen zoomed in for his Keynote because he is still in Taiwan for Compudex. Jensen has labeled Taiwan the heart of GenAI Compute, all of Nvidia (and AMD)’s major suppliers are in Taiwan. It’s amazing this little island the size of California holds the future to AI. 3) Snowflake and Nvidia announced their partnership. Basically it’s combining Snowflake LLM Datastore with Nvidia LLM training and inference/generate. This is revolutionary. Snowflake pioneered the separation of compute from storage in massive EDWs, and now the circle is completely with bringing Nvidia compute training and inference/generation close to storage, eliminating bandwidth cost, latency and data policy/privacy issues. And as someone with Information Retrieval background, I see GenAI has come full circle with RAG - it’s just Precision/Recall, attributes vectorization as “embedding”, K-Nearest Neighbor, User Search Intent, DAG, ML algorithms, etc all over again. Except this time with supercharged GPU SoC that is improving at 16x Moore’s Law. We live in exciting times.

🔍 When #Correlation Meets #Causality: Navigating the GTM Minefield 🔍 In the world of Go-To-Market (#GTM), we often find ourselves enamored with data. It’s like finding patterns in clouds—sometimes what you see is more about imagination than meteorology. Remember, just because two things happen together doesn't mean one caused the other. 🌥️=☔? Not always! For example, just because your ice cream sales spike the same month you launched a new ad campaign doesn't mean your ads are making everyone crave ice cream. Maybe it's just... summer. 🍦😂 But here’s the tricky part: in GTM—a blend of art, science, and social juggling— we are humans, and like everyone else : we love simplicity. 🤷‍♂️ We crave clear, predictable outcomes because, let’s face it, unpredictability can be daunting. Yet, the reality is that #sales, #marketing, and #customersuccess are far from deterministic. The same goes for #economics. It’s crucial to understand that data, while incredibly valuable, isn’t a crystal ball. 🔮 Data points does not equate to pure or applied science. ⛔️ Just because sales spiked in Q2 doesn't mean your new email template was the magical ingredient. Maybe the market was just ripe, or perhaps a competitor stumbled. So, next time you're tempted to declare victory based on correlational data, remember: correlation is not causation. 🚫 It’s insightful, yes, but it's not an ironclad guarantee of why things happen. I like this idea of "technical taste". It gets into where software engineering is as much creative art as it is science. Four great takeaways (IMHO) for software devs in this era in particular: 1. Aspiring engineers should cultivate a sense of curiosity, experiment with different tools and technologies, and embrace a mindset of continuous learning. 2. AI has the potential to streamline processes and enhance productivity for engineers, but it may also lead to disruptions in traditional software development workflows. 3. Developing technical taste and judgment is essential for making informed decisions about which technologies and approaches to pursue. 4. Collaboration and open-mindedness are key to leveraging the full potential of AI and staying ahead of technological advancements. I also really liked these two quotes from Sam Schillace: 1. "The right time to do something is when you have that feeling in the pit of your stomach that's like, 'oh, this is a great idea and it's going to suck to build because nothing's ready yet.'" 2. "Technical taste is like, 'how well have you consolidated that set of experiences and heuristics into judgment that you can apply accurately when you see new things?'" 3. "It may be the case that very small teams can do very large projects, or like we were talking about before, it may be the case we're just going to get really ambitious about what we try to do with the same size of teams, which is kind of where I would put my money." The big question that Snowflake had to answer at #SnowflakeSummit was whether #Snowflake was truly an AI platform for the enterprise. Did they get there? I think they made the leap and deserve consideration in the Gen AI era after not really being there last year. And the big difference I saw was really around pushing a lot more #AI products to either a public preview or GA status where all the announcements have now become actual products.
