Change an ad account’s shared access to your Insight Tag in Campaign Manager

Last updated: 1 month ago

Tag permissions allow multiple ad accounts to use the same Insight Tag on campaigns for conversion tracking, website retargeting, and asset copying.

If you’ve allowed multiple ad accounts to access your Insight Tag, you can:

  • Remove the tag - If an account no longer needs access to the tag, you can remove the account.

  • Change the access level - If you’d like to change the access an account has to your Insight Tag, you’ll need to remove the account’s access before you can update it. For example, if you gave full access to your Insight Tag but you want to update it to use-only access, you’ll need to remove the full access before you can add the account to use-only access.

To change an ad account’s shared access to your Insight Tag:

  1. Sign in to Campaign Manager.

  2. If you need to switch accounts, click the account name in the upper-left corner of the page and select the correct account name from the dropdown.

  3. Click Analyze on the left menu, then click Sources.

  4. Click Insight Tag

  5. Click the Manage Insight Tag dropdown and select Manage sharing.

  6. Click the Dropdown icon to expand the option for either full access or use-only access.

    • Full access - Allows users on the account to grant any other accounts the user also has access to permission to use the Insight Tag.
    • Use-only access – Restricts users on the account from granting any other accounts permission to use the Insight Tag. They’ll still be able to create conversions, build website audiences, and track demographics using data from the tag on their account.

  8. Click Save.
  9. If you’d like to change the accounts access level, click the Dropdown icon to expand the option for either full access or use-only access.

  10. Search for the account name or account ID you would like to give access permission to your Insight Tag. Only accounts that you have access to will appear when searching.
