Dr. Bob Zufall, who passed away in March, was a hero and role model to so many of us. Driven by a sense of duty that few others recognized, he founded our health center in his retirement at age 65. He and his wife, Kay, worked tirelessly and without pay to serve the underserved. We honor his legacy by continuing his work and making a difference in our communities. Exciting news! Last week, Zufall Health – Plainsboro treated its first-ever dental patients in its brand new operatories! Right now, dental care is available here on a limited basis, but starting July 15, we'll be expanding to five days a week (Monday through Friday). With the expansion, Plainsboro becomes Zufall's eighth brick-and-mortar dental location, in addition to the Zufall Health Delta Dental Mobile.

Zufall Health provides a safe and welcoming environment for people who face barriers to health care, including refugees. Supported by the New Jersey Office of New Americans, Zufall is the trusted medical home for many individuals who have fled unsafe conditions in their home countries and have been granted refugee status. We commemorated our commitment to our refugee patients with the New Jersey Department of Human Service on World Refugee Day (June 20). During a special event at the State House, Commissioner Sarah Adelman presented proclamations from Governor Phil Murphy to refugee service providers including Zufall. In early 2023, Governor Phil Murphy expanded his Cover All Kids program to open eligibility for NJ FamilyCare (Medicaid) to all income-qualifying children, regardless of immigration status. Thanks to this expansion, Asumi, a high school student and patient at Zufall Health, has been able to access urgently needed surgical care and enjoy significant health improvements under the care of Pediatrician Christine Pagano, MD.
