Great news for the clean future of flight: American Airlines commits to the conditional purchase of 100 ZeroAvia hydrogen-powered engines and increases its investment in our company. ZeroAvia is designing an engine for regional jet aircraft such as the Bombardier CRJ700, which American operates on certain regional routes. These investments are intended to meaningfully contribute to the world’s largest airline’s aggressive goal to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Details here, including commentary from American’s CEO, Robert Isom and ZeroAvia Founder and CEO, Val Miftakhov: https://lnkd.in/eA7yhzFX #zeroemission #hydrogen #aviation #aircraft

“...it’s [climate impact] becoming increasingly a business imperative. Our customers care about it. The ability to do something positive for the business that’s also positive for the world around us is a really exciting opportunity.” If you’ve got just 5 minutes you can meet one of the most influential people in sustainable aviation: Diana Birkett Rakow, SVP Public Affairs & Sustainability at Alaska Airlines. Her background in science, public health, policy (on Capitol Hill) and healthcare fueled a strong interest in climate’s wide-ranging impact on the environment and humanity – strong enough to land her at our partner Alaska, where she and her colleagues are working closely with ZeroAvia to make a real difference for the airline, its customers, and beyond: https://lnkd.in/egPx3f-v

How can the most abundant element in the universe – hydrogen – be priced as a scarce commodity here on earth? How can it be colourless, yet available in many different colours? How can it be a zero-emissions energy source that is today derived from emissions-intensive hydrocarbons? The short answer to these and other questions: hydrogen is a paradox. We explain this incredible yet misunderstood current-and-future energy source, including its role as a zero-emissions fuel to power the next generation of aviation here: https://lnkd.in/ek5hfkd8 #hydrogen #aviation #zeroemission

Introducing ZeroAvia’s Silicon Carbide bidirectional inverters, which convert HVDC voltage to three phase (3Φ) AC power. Our Inverters are specifically optimized for high altitude and unpressurized areas and are designed to DO160G aerospace standards. The inverters operate with a high-power density and reduced weight, with advanced thermal management technologies and integration to enable reliable high-performance. Being power agnostic, our inverters are compatible with a number of power sources and are built to power electric motors for numerous applications. We have designed both single and dual configurations, with continuous power of 200kW and 400kW respectively. To find out more about our advanced technologies, head to https://lnkd.in/eBFnWSgV

ITOCHU Corporation is an investor, sales agent and key partner for ZeroAvia in Japan and throughout Asia. In this video, Naoaki Sato talks through ITOCHU’s adherence to “Sanpo Yoshi” - the old Japanese merchant's principle which translates as “good for three parties,” - the seller, the buyer, and society. Great to hear Nao's thoughts on how ITOCHU and ZeroAvia's collaboration will meet these principles. As Nao states: “We see a future in ZeroAvia, and we believe that the technology and the capability that ZeroAvia has is extremely advanced.” Learn more by watching below or on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/eq8W2_HH #zeroemission #hydrogen #aviation #aircraft

As our US employees celebrate Independence Day, it seemed like an opportune moment to reflect on another critical form of independence: "Energy Independence". Today, we're diving into the transformative potential of hydrogen as the most promising solution to break free from our reliance on carbon-based energy sources. And for the aviation industry in particular, transitioning away from fossil fuels has wider benefits beyond carbon – including fuel security. In this blog post, we examine the developments that are making energy independence a reality, address the challenges of renewable energy intermittency, and highlight hydrogen's vast potential to boost energy self-sufficiency across the globe. Read all about it here and share any questions you have with us below: https://lnkd.in/eWUifJRj #zeroemission #energy #aviation #hydrogen
