It's AAPI Heritage Month! Wu Yee Children's Services was founded by Chinese American women in 1977 who saw a deep need to support new immigrant parents in search of reliable child care and other services in San Francisco's Chinatown. Due to discrimination and segregation, parents faced many barriers to accessing public services and jobs. Now, Wu Yee serves all of San Francisco to help families of every background overcome barriers because we believe every child deserves the best start. #DidYouKnow that #AAPI #nonprofit organizations only get 0.20% of all philanthropic funding nationally? Yet these nonprofits provide invaluable culturally and linguistically appropriate support to our communities – support that public systems often cannot. Let’s show our support for these organizations this month and every month. Have you shown your support for this #AAPIHeritageMonth?
