  • Are these statements you've heard before? 🚩 "We just cannot find enough diverse talent for our open roles." 🚩 "Diverse talent doesn't apply for our open positions." 🚩 "It takes longer to find diverse talent." In a recent Forbes article, Julie Kratz tackles these common challenges that leaders cite for their struggles in recruiting and hiring diverse talent. Diversity means doing things differently. To attract and retain diverse talent, consider these five strategies outlined by Kratz: 🔹 Eliminate subjective criteria 🔹 Remove gendered language 🔹 Reevaluate education requirements 🔹 Be transparent about pay and flexibility 🔹 Ensure all criteria are 100% non-negotiable Implementing these strategies makes job descriptions more attractive to diverse talent and enables inclusivity in performance reviews and succession-planning processes. • If you could just improve the performance of each recruiter in your business by a modest amount, think of the huge overall impact that could have on your financial performance and success. Take just a few minutes today to watch this, think it'll really give you some ideas to help transform your recruiters' performance. A couple of things to keep in mind: 🔶 The average recruiter makes 1 placement a month. So, for most of their working lives, they come to work and don't celebrate having a successful day. Change their thinking about this, get them to celebrate achieving other results and smaller successes - that ultimately contribute to them making more placements. You'll have happier recruiters - and they'll ultimately make more placements! 🔶 Track both the quantity and the quality of what your recruiters are doing. For some recruiters, it may be that they are just not doing enough of the most important activities each week. For others, they really are hitting those KPIs but the quality of what they are saying or doing is letting them down. You need to be like a Doctor, diagnosing the cause of underperformance individual by individual. Only by doing that can you help each recruiter in your team to improve their results. Let us know if this has been a help in the comments, thanks!

  • Are you unable to reach the decision-maker you want to talk to... and they never call back? Here are some thoughts on how to overcome that. One simple solution is to try calling other decision-makers in the same organization, rather than getting fixated on one. So many times, going after multiple points of contact has allowed recruiters to overcome this obstacle - and be working on roles for that employer within a matter of weeks. Hope this is helpful - and any other suggestions you'd add? #Recruitment #RecruitingTips #StaffingAdvice
