In our first week, we've had lectures from Jibran Rashid with QWorld on understanding #quantumcomputing, talked to Olivia Lanes, PhD about her journey through quantum that led her to IBM, gamified quantum computing through Quantum Odyssey from Quarks Interactive, explored the exceptional labs of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with Will Oliver and Shantanu Jha, and dived into the first of many key quantum algorithms in a lecture on Grover's Search Algorithm from Erica Sturm - one of our own alumni from last summer and an active QSL fellow! And yes, we even hit the 1000 participant limit on a Zoom call in our first session (in case you didn't know it existed - we didn't either)! Luckily we also livestream our lectures on YouTube, where we had 900+ viewers on our first day. This is only the beginning, with lots more to be explored across quantum hardware, quantum algorithms, and quantum machine learning - all explored through engaging lectures, intensive assignments, and soon real world projects with our various company sponsors!
