From the beginning of her journey in Baltimore to her distinguished academic achievements at Barnard College, Columbia University, and Harvard Law School, Vernā's journey exemplifies resilience and determination. She was the inaugural head of Inclusion Strategy at Netflix, leading by example and advocating for the integration of diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging into every aspect of workplace culture. Vernā's past roles, including Executive Director of The Boston Law Firm Group and Deputy Chief of Staff for the Attorney General of Massachusetts, highlight her multifaceted expertise and commitment to effecting positive change. Her contributions to corporate law and her leadership in driving diversity initiatives have left an indelible mark on the legal profession and beyond. We are excited to release WBC’s Women of Color Briefing, which discusses “Attracting, Promoting, and Retaining Women of Color.” WBC created this Briefing after reviewing and analyzing over 60 reports from both business and academic sources, many of which collaborate with Women Business Collaborative (WBC). Our analysis revealed a significant gap in specific data regarding the different races and ethnicities included under the WOC category. The Briefing encourages corporations to more vigorously focus on attracting, retaining, and promoting WOC.
