Team members from Wayne-Sanderson Farms’ Bryan, Texas complex were recently presented with a “Heart of Que” award for their support and sponsorship of the 2024 National High School BBQ Association’s annual National Championship competition. For this year’s event held in Branson, Missouri, our Bryan, Texas complex donated over 100 units of fresh poultry product for the students to cook. The mission of the National High School BBQ Association is to inspire and prepare students for life by creating a nation-wide competitive league to teach, preserve, and promote the tradition of barbecue and live fire cooking as a sport designed around project-based learning while using it to develop leadership, career, and life skills for today’s youth. #MakingChickenAmazing

Team members from Wayne-Sanderson Farms’ Decatur, Alabama processing facility recently demonstrated their commitment to the company’s core value of stewardship and their passion for supporting the local community by proudly participating in Decatur’s Relay for Life event, a key fundraising effort for the American Cancer Society (ACS). This year’s local event was themed, “Relaying Through the Decades.” As a “Relay Legacy” sponsor and one of two top performing teams this year, Wayne-Sanderson Farms has historically been one of the region’s top ACS fundraising sponsors over the years, adding more than $1.7 million to the chapter’s local efforts as a top-ten finisher for ten consecutive years and helping Decatur ACS land honors as the number one Relay for Life fundraiser in the nation. Through ongoing fundraising efforts, such as an annual golf tournament and on-site initiatives, the Decatur facility has already raised over $105,000 for this worthy cause, contributing to a Decatur-area total of $610,000. Fundraising efforts will continue until the end of July, with a goal of raising $645,000 for Relay for Life’s July 2024 total. Wayne-Sanderson Farms is proud to contribute to this meaningful campaign! #MakingChickenAmazing

In celebration of Immigrant Heritage Month in June, employee resources provided by our language resources and technology enhanced learning department help to bridge the gap to ensure all Wayne-Sanderson Farms employees receive the education, training and accessibility they need to be successful in their roles even when bridging unique language barriers. #MakingChickenAmazing

At Wayne-Sanderson Farms, our Amazing Starts With Me employee engagement program is integrated throughout everything we do to empower our team members to positively contribute to our operations through focus on our four main pillars of people, planet, animals, and food. To celebrate this year’s animal pillar, the company challenged our farm partners to show us their “chicken shoes!” In order to respect the flock, wearing farm-dedicated footwear is critical to keeping our birds safe and healthy.
