Where can we help you reduce noise pollution? After grinding Montreal’s Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM) light rail system with our HSG-city, independent 3rd party measurements validated an average noise reduction of 5 dB levels in areas with pre-existing noise complaints. Vossloh, with our HSG-city, were pleased to have contributed to helping solve our customer's challenge, specifically noise pollution along the new elevated track on concrete slab. The first section of the fully autonomous railroad has been in operation since summer 2023 and connects the city center with the residential areas on the other side of the St. Lawrence River. With the help of our smart High Speed Grinding technology, a complete condition survey was carried out across the REM network by the integrated measurement technology of the smart HSG-city both before and after grinding. The data obtained is automatically fed into our "mapl-e" system allowing for precision grinding and validating that the corrugation has been removed.
