About us
VISIT DENVER is the official marketing arm of the City and County of Denver, responsible for selling Denver as a convention and leisure destination. VISIT DENVER is governed by a board of directors, employs a staff of nearly 50 professionals and counts nearly 1,300 businesses as members. It’s funded from both private and public sources, including 2.75 percent of the lodger's tax in the City and County of Denver. In 2019, Denver broke tourism records with 17.7 million overnight visitors and 31.4 million total visitors, according to Longwoods International. The study, commissioned by VISIT DENVER, found that metro Denver visitors spent $7 billion, while supporting 64,000 jobs. Denver sets itself apart. It’s an outdoor city filled with urban adventure, 300 days of sunshine, a walkable downtown, chef-driven dining, thriving arts & culture and diverse neighborhoods, not to mention its status as the top craft beer city in the nation. A vibrant outdoor city at the base of the Rocky Mountains, Denver's stunning architecture and unparalleled views help produce truly epic experiences for both leisure visitors and meeting & business travelers. Ranked as one of the nation’s most helpful convention bureaus, VISIT DENVER uses a sophisticated integrated marketing approach to sell Denver as a travel destination, which includes direct sales, advertising, tourism and convention industry trade shows, online promotions, websites, social media, e-newsletters, visitor guides and brochures, public relations and press tours, client familiarization tours and site inspections, and tourist information centers. Small wonder that VISIT DENVER has won the meeting industry’s top service awards for the past 27 years!

The first block of the newly renovated 16th Street Mall is officially open! The pedestrian mall, between Lawrence and Larimer, now includes expanded patio dining areas, new pavers, and a new "Beehive" play structure. The milestone opening provides a sneak peek of what we can look forward to as work continues on the rest of the mall.
Building our city, making our place - a phrase that rang truer than ever to our organization this morning as our team joined with hundreds of community members and project partners to celebrate the first completed block of the new 16th Street. This moment marks the first of many celebrations to come as we work toward full completion of this truly world-class public space. Thanks to all who joined us to officially "open the door" to this exciting new chapter for our city. Be sure to check out the newly-completed block of 16th Street between Lawrence and Larimer Streets and join us in supporting the incredible businesses that make up the fabric of 16th Street and our center city.
