On World Hunger Day 2024, the Venturi Private Wealth team in Oklahoma City spent the afternoon volunteering at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Along with other volunteers, the #OKC team helped pack 39 boxes which will provide 1,443 meals to individuals across central and western Oklahoma! This year's 6th Annual Honor Flight Charity Shoot was another HUGE success! Plans to transfer wealth to future generations of your family? While you're likely familiar with the estate tax, you may not be aware of the Generation-Skipping Transfer Tax (GSTT). Here's what you need to know... 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐫? This could be anyone from the individual making a gift to the estate accountable for the assets. 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐬 & 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐩 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬: Identifying each recipient's generational level is crucial. "Skip persons" are typically two generations below the transferor, like grandchildren. 𝐓𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐒𝐓 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐬: They can be taxable terminations, taxable distributions, or direct skips. Each has unique triggers and tax implications. 𝐆𝐒𝐓 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Not all transfers are subject to the GST. Payments for medical or educational benefits for a skip person often bypass the GST.
